This September, NIT Patna is gearing up for an event that’s about to spark conversations, ignite debates, and challenge minds. From September 13th to 15th, Expresso—the Literary and Art Club*—brings you “MUN 2.0”, a three-day Model United Nations that will transform the NIT Patna campus on Ashok Rajpath into a bustling hub of diplomacy, dialogue, and global action.

For those who love critical thinking, problem-solving, and have a passion for global affairs, this is your moment. Whether you’re a seasoned MUN enthusiast or just dipping your toes into the world of international relations, MUN 2.0 promises an immersive experience. And guess what? You don’t have to be a political science major to enjoy it. This event is for anyone who’s ready to question, debate, and rethink the way the world works.

What’s in Store at MUN 2.0?

MUN 2.0 offers four unique committees that bring together diverse perspectives on some of the most pressing global and national issues.

- United Nations General Assembly (UNGA): This is where delegates will tackle challenges that affect our world, from climate change to humanitarian crises. Expect heated debates and thought-provoking resolutions.

- United Nations Security Council (UNSC): Think of international peace and security—one wrong move could lead to global unrest! Delegates here will be tasked with maintaining peace while navigating complex political landscapes.

- International Press (IP):  Not a fan of public speaking? No problem. As a part of the IP, you’ll capture the essence of the debates, writing, reporting, and even photographing the event, bringing stories to life for all to see.

- Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC): For those more interested in domestic policies, JPC will be the place to discuss national governance, offering an up-close look at the intricacies of India’s political system.

Why Should You Join?

MUN 2.0 isn’t just an academic exercise; it’s a training ground for future diplomats, journalists, and policymakers. You’ll get to hone your negotiation skills, practice public speaking, and learn the art of compromise. Plus, you’ll meet like-minded individuals who share your passion for understanding the world and shaping its future.

For the readers of L’utopia Magazine, this is more than just an event to watch—it’s an experience to dive into. Whether you’re interested in diplomacy, journalism, or simply want to explore the fascinating world of global politics, MUN 2.0 has something for everyone. And the best part? Your voice matters here.
