  • Most Colorful Cities In The World - why you should visit them?

by Priti Sharma Most Colorful Cities In The World - why you should visit them? 16 February 2023 TRAVEL Advertisement Advertisement Color makes life better, and travelers may discover the world's most colorful locations while traveling. The world's most vibrant sites may be found in busy metropolises and unspoiled natural settings. International cities greet tourists with a dash of color, creating fantastic picture opportunities and vistas, from unique mural artwork to the brilliant colors of skyscrapers. What attributes make a city beautiful? It relies on a number of variables, including the environment, architectural style, cleanliness, tranquility, and population. Additionally essential to a city's remarkable beauty are the colors. The eight cities with the most color in the world are listed below. 1. Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada: The oldest incorporated city in Canada dates back to 1785 and is located in the province of New Brunswick. Saint John City is well known for its downtown row houses that are painted in vibrant colors. It is one of the city's most well-liked tourist destinations. Jellybean Row refers to the row of colorful homes in Saint John's downtown. According to legend, residents of Saint John's used to paint their homes in vivid hues to maintain their attractiveness even during foggy conditions. Every house on the street is painted a different color, as you can see. Your trip on the city's walking tour will undoubtedly be one you never forget. 2. Chefchaouen, Morocco: Due to its isolation, the Blue City of Morocco has been cut off from the outside world for over a millennium. But why is it that color? Depending on who you ask, there are several explanations for why the Moroccan town of Chefchaouen is blue. Some claim that it is because of Jewish mysticism, while others assert that the blue tones are a naturally occurring mosquito repellant since they are found in the hills where the town was established. Chefchaouen is one of the world's most colorful towns, regardless of why it is blue. 3. Bo-Kaap, Cape Town, South Africa: Bo-Kaap in Cape Town has a vivid past. The Dutch brought many slaves to Cape Town throughout the 16th and 17th centuries from Malaysia, Indonesia, and various African nations. The enslaved were referred to as "Cape Malays." Several homes were constructed in this region in about 1760 and leased to the slaves. Later, the former slaves acquired the homes and painted them in vivid hues to symbolize their joy and liberation. Cape Town's Bo-Kaap neighborhood is situated at the base of Signal Hill and is rich in history and color. This residential neighborhood is well known for its vividly colored homes and winding pathways made of cobblestones. These residences showcase a fusion of Georgian and Dutch architectural designs. 4. Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India: The second-largest city in Rajasthan, India, is Jodhpur, popularly referred to as "The Blue City." The vibrant blue-washed homes in the old town are the source of the city's name. India was decades ahead of Morocco from one blue town to the next, despite the fact that Jodhpur's blue colors had a less than happy history. Electric blue buildings were historically designated for the "higher classes" and were originally painted as a part of the caste system. The custom, however, gradually spread across the town, turning the ruins of the cobalt buildings into a genuine tourist destination as well as a useful remedy for the oppressive heat. 5. Willemstad, Curacao The capital city of Curacao, Willemstad, is renowned for being a city with a rich cultural legacy. Rich in history, both public and private structures exhibit vibrant and often very beautiful architecture. In fact, the city is home to 750 vibrant structures in all. Historic structures may be found throughout Willemstad, many of which are notable for their use of Dutch architectural design. These beautiful, colorful structures, which date to the 17th century, draw hundreds of visitors each year. 6. Burano, Venice, Italy: Burano's multicoloured mansions have an intriguing truth. In the past, Burano's primary source of revenue was fishing. The fisherman had trouble identifying their cottages throughout the winter due to the dense fog. So they made the decision to paint their homes a variety of hues. The coloring custom in Burano is thought to have begun as a result of this occurrence. Today, you can notice that Burano's houses have a specific color scheme. In Burano, there is a clearly laid out procedure for painting homes. Let's say you live in the village and enjoy painting your house. Sending the government a formal request should be your first step. They will notify you which color you are permitted to paint your home. Interesting right? 7. Busan, South Korea The Gamcheon cultural hamlet is the main reason to place Busan at the top of your bucket list for Korea, despite the fact that it nearly often takes a back seat to Seoul. One of the most "Instagrammable" locations on the Korean peninsula, and maybe the whole globe, is a hillside covered in vibrant dwellings that people frequently compare to stacked legos. If this is on your trip wish list, you must visit it. 8. Santorini, Greece: Two colors are likely to spring to mind when you think of the Greek island of Santorini: white, which is the color of many buildings' walls, and blue, which also serves as the color of the island's dazzling Ionian Sea and many of its roofs. The city of Oia's building facades really contain a variety of other hues, but because the blues and whites are so striking, it's simple to get distracted by them. Take your photos on a clear day at dusk, when the prismatic sky sheds its brilliant light over the darkening metropolis, to fully enjoy Oia's beautiful rainbow. These were a handful of the ones we chose, and we're confident they'll make you grin. Make it a point to visit these locations, and prepare to be surrounded by every color of the rainbow. • What The World Can Learn From Sustainable Tourism In Kerala

by Yashi Srivastava What The World Can Learn From Sustainable Tourism In Kerala 24 February 2023 TRAVEL Advertisement Advertisement Kerala, God’s Own Country, is full of magic. From mist-engulfed Western Ghats and mysterious mangroves to the heart-warming sights of tea states and marigold fields, there is just so much to experience in this mesmerizing southern Indian state. Amongst its countless striking features, being a pro at sustainable tourism seems to have overwhelmed the hearts of India and the world alike. So, what can we learn about sustainable tourism in Kerala? If you want to know, continue reading this article. The Responsible Tourism Mission Kerala is the first state of India to launch an idea related to responsible tourism - the responsible tourism mission , which tends to focus not just on the travelers who visit Kerala, but also takes care of the needs of the locals who live in the state. Most tourists only want to make their state better for the tourists. They would cut beautiful jungles to make space for more concrete and would even ignore the local people and their ideas regarding the expansion of tourists’ demands. With Kerala’s Responsible Tourism Mission, the change has already begun. Under this project, the focus is laid on issues like eradication of local poverty, developing villages and local communities as well as finding means to empower local women - you see, the keyword here is local. Under this Mission, several projects related to culture, village-life, economic, and social experiences in Kerala have been successfully launched and completed. Vocational training to local entrepreneurs and artisans integrate with tourism Several entrepreneurs and talented artists are trained under Kerala’s RT Mission to develop their skills and work with the tourism department to sell their products to the tourists or hotels, etc. The eco-friendly cloth bags have thus replaced plastic bags, along with many conscious products being introduced to the local homestays, hotels, and other market linkages. The opportunity thus, also provides a means of livelihood to the artists and micropreneurs. Bringing back the forgotten art forms of the state The state and its organizations have introduced several travel or art packages that allow tourists to get up and close with the timeless art forms of the state. However, the art forms aren’t limited to dance, music, or performing. It also includes packages to experience the grand festivals of the country, how the local artists live, and even, the history of the arts of Kerala. Accommodations with plastic-free zones and more The local homestays, even those that offer luxury stays, are conscious about the detrimental effects of the environment on nature. So, properties like Spice Village in Thekkady runs on 70% solar energy and doesn’t allow even percent of plastic use within its premises. The place also collects rainwater and recycles paper waste, and uses their own water bottles, among other conscious decisions. There is a vegan homestay in the state as well - the first of its kind in the country, where of course, the food is completely plant-based and thus, supports low carbon emission . The property collects rainwater and features compost toilets and home-made vegan food, all their profits go to a charity that improves welfare of stray animals. Wrapping up When it comes to sustainable tourism in India and the world, we still have a long way to go. However, Kerala has given us that ray of hope that will surely guide us through the end of the tunnel at the end of which we will surely find the light to keep going and growing responsibly. The next time you visit Kerala, remember to stay in a vegan yet luxurious homestay because now, you can! Blob - Kerala is all about beauty but so much more, like supporting sustainable tourism like no other country in the world. So, here is a sneak-peek into the missions and actions that Kerala has and is determined to take to make travel worth it for both locals as well as tourists. #KeralaTourism #Kerala #ResponsibleTourism #SustainableTourism #KeralaTravel SEARCH 7 Abandoned Cities In India And Abroad That Are Too Beautiful To Be Forgotten TRAVEL Blue Lagoon – Iceland TRAVEL Palm Islands TRAVEL WORLD PEACE DOME TRAVEL Blood Falls In Antarctica: Explained TRAVEL POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement By Anushka Sharma Chiang Mai Is So Unrealistically Magical; And Here Is Why 28 June 2024 TRAVEL By Anushka Sharma Lakshadweep Is A Heaven In Disguise And Here Is Why 3 April 2024 TRAVEL By Anushka Sharma If Uzbekistan Isn’t On Your Travel List, Here Is Exactly Why It Should Be 21 March 2024 TRAVEL By Anushka Sharma The Fashion Capitals Of Asia: Exploring Style Beyond Borders 19 March 2024 TRAVEL RELATED POSTS

  • Do I feel pretty?

by Neha Pande Do I feel pretty? 1 September 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Do I feel pretty? Do I love my looks? Miniskirt or Salwar Suit, which one should I choose? A women’s life is scandalous and decided by the way she dresses or looks, it is the harsh reality of the women beauty standards where aesthetics is everything. A judgmental world where lipsticks are more expensive than books because that’s how the society is, isn’t it? Makeup, surgery and the way I “should” dress, publicised through all social media making young girls think they are to look a certain way. Society has made it a norm for women to dress pretty with makeup done neatly and not to dress tomboyish as it is impolite for a girl to be dressed in men’s clothing. Funny thing is it doesn’t even matter if she’s perfect with beautiful skin and a neatly dressed or if she is tom boyishly dressed with bad skin, it doesn’t matter the amount or makeup she has on or does not because the society still will judge, it will still try to nit-pick on whatever they can. You may think if she’s in a Miniskirt people will drool over her and if she is in a Salwar Suit people might call her a ‘behenji’; to that, yes, that might happen with our society falling into the tracks of western culture people might like the miniskirt and beautifully done makeup better but salwar suit has its own charm and will also invite a lot of spectators. But it doesn’t matter if it’s a Salwar Suit or a Miniskirt as the female behind it will still be criticized, as if her change in size or dressing has let everyone down. Her body is caged in reviews and views with titles on her as if she’s a zoo animal, shouldn’t she be allowed to dress however she wants? Shouldn’t she wear as much makeup as she wants or not? Society may change with feminist movements going around the globe, this mentality might change and till then all we can do is to stop asking the question about which one is better, Miniskirt or Salwar Suit because it doesn’t really matter as we all are passengers of the same ship which is headed by the captain called “Society” and we all are suffering the same from the same judgment as others. • Therapy motivation

by Anadi Gupta Therapy motivation 1 November 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Causes of depression are still being discovered, some people get this disease due to difficult conditions of life, and some without any solid reason. Still no solid physical test is available to detect depression. When you care about someone, it is very difficult to see them struggling with their mental state. And even more so when you know that they can be helped professionally. It can be very difficult to visit someone and encourage them for therapy or professional help. Misconceptions about mental health have intensified stigma in society. Even today, depression and mental illnesses are not taken seriously in our society. It is important for us to understand that this is also a type of disease that can happen to people and they need to be treated. That is why we should always talk with patience and love to people suffering from it, so that they do not feel like a burden. We should assure them that we are with them and we will help them to get out of it. Still a lot of people don’t feel comfortable to talk openly about depression. Many famous people, who are very successful in their area, become victims of depression because people usually have very high expectations from them and they feel under pressure to fulfil them. But some celebrities have came forward and talk about it and encouraged others, which is a very good step for the society. It can be hard to share personal feelings with parents, especially if you haven’t done it in a while. This can be difficult to share when you are not really sure what is going on. Sometimes parents can provide a new angle that helps you understand things. Just talking about it can help you see things from a different perspective. If depression is severe or persists, you may still need to talk to a therapist after having a good conversation with your parents. Tell your mom or dad if you continue to feel depressed. Your mother or father can make an appointment for you and support you while working with a therapist. Telling your parents about depression can be very emotionally difficult for you. You may cry, or your parents may cry. This is completely fine. Depression is a difficult subject, and you are doing the right thing by addressing it now before it gets worse. Chances are, your parents have already noticed that something is wrong. They just don’t know what it is or how to help. By naming the problem, you will help them feel better and learn how to take action. You have to choose a time when neither you nor your parents are distracted. It should be a quiet time when you can talk one-on-one, or with both of them alone. Long car rides, quiet evenings, working together, and long walks are all good subjects. If your parents are busy, ask when is a good time. Say something like “I really have something important to talk to you about. What would be a good time for us to have a private conversation?” Sometimes, parents make the mistake of not taking their children seriously about depression. Opening up about depression can be challenging, but you will definitely feel better if you try to share your feelings. Get the courage to talk to your parents about what depression is, especially when you are feeling particularly low. Talk therapy is not just “talking about your problems” It is also working towards solutions. Some therapy may include homework, such as tracking your moods, writing about your thoughts, or participating in social activities that have been a cause for concern in the past. You may be encouraged to look at things in a different way or learn new ways to react to events or people. Most of today’s therapy is brief and focuses on your current thoughts, feelings and life issues. Focusing on the past can help explain things in your life, but focusing on the present can help you face the present and prepare for the future. You may see your physician or counselor more often when you first start working with them, and later, as you progress toward your goals, you have fewer appointments. It’s just that, Never be afraid in asking for help whenever it is needed. #mentalhealthmatters #depression #Therapy #Anxiety #mentalhealthawareness SEARCH Women Empowerment A mere concept or a real Concern SOCIETY Looking Through The Excellence Of ‘Jaali’ Architecture SOCIETY Why the Gender Pay Gap is Wide and Disturbing SOCIETY Festival of Stones SOCIETY The Pygmalion Effect SOCIETY POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement By Anushka Sharma Uniting Voices, Shaping Futures: Dive Into Mun 2.0 At NIT Patna 8 September 2024 SOCIETY By Anushka Sharma These Healthy Habits Can Lower Your Risk Of Depression 31 August 2024 SOCIETY By Rini Pathak A Glance In The Kshitij’23: A Euphoric Escapade 26 January 2024 SOCIETY By Rini Pathak Mithibai Kshitij: Epitome Of Diverse Social Cause Empowerment 24 January 2024 SOCIETY RELATED POSTS

  • Why India is the most depressed country in the world?

by Anadi Gupta Why India is the most depressed country in the world? 1 September 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement India is the world’s most depressed country and we don’t talk about it as much as we talk about other diseases, but you’ll be shocked to know that 300 million people worldwide are suffering from depression. Depression and bad mental health have been ignored as a serious issue since ages. Mental health is as important as physical health but sadly nobody takes it as a serious illness and avoid talking about it. People in India still take it as a taboo. A study reported in WHO, conducted for the National Care Of Medical Health, states that at least 6.5 per cent of the Indian population suffers from some form of the serious mental disorder, in spite of the rural-urban differences. Though there are effective measures and treatments, there is an extreme shortage of doctors and mental health workers like psychologists and psychiatrists. As reported latest in 2014, it was as low as ”one in 100,000 people”. The average suicide rate in India is 10.9 for every one lakh people and the majority of people who commit suicide are below 44 years of age. According to these data, India is in a serious mental health crisis but the attitude which Indians show towards it is not helpful at all. It won’t make any change. A major part of population of India is highly judgmental towards those who have any kind of mental illness. They don’t like to talk to such people because they think it will affect their mental health too. According to the surveys the people who understand it come from good socio-economic environment and are highly educated. The young kids are coming forward to support many mental health campaigns because they understand and are facing stress a lot. India has less resources and more population but one of the main aspects in which we highly fail is the stereotypical thinking of the people who live here. People still are blinded by the fake traditions and rituals. But depression is a serious mental illness which should be taken seriously otherwise it can cause long lasting severe feelings of sadness, hopelessness and loneliness. There can be different symptoms for different people and it can also be differentiated according to gender. Many people mistook depression for sadness but it is more than just being sad and lonely. Symptoms of it can last from months to years. A person with depression cannot find pleasure or joy in anything. It gets very difficult for one to start a day and get off from the bed. There is just so much hopelessness in everything they do. Everything seems so tiring and difficult. If you see a person like this please tell him to get help if needed and get a proper treatment otherwise it may result in us losing another life. Spread awareness against it, try to make people aware everywhere that mental peace and stability is the most important thing. Many celebrities are now breaking stereotypes and coming forward to talk about it publicly so people can realize its effects. Many mental health foundations are doing great work for the cause. And we can now only hope for things to get better.
