- From Alexandria To Dubai: The Inspiring Journey Of Mennatallah Ali
By Anushka Sharma From Alexandria To Dubai: The Inspiring Journey Of Mennatallah Ali 14 August 2024 BEAUTY Advertisement Advertisement Mennatallah Ali’s story is one of passion, perseverance, and a deep love for beauty and fashion. Originating from the bustling coastal city of Alexandria, Egypt, Mennatallah's journey into the world of beauty began at a young age. She was enamored with fashion, beauty, and skincare, which laid the foundation for her future endeavors. Her early foray into the beauty industry saw her working as a makeup model. However, she soon realized the inconsistency in professional makeup services and took it upon herself to master the craft. After completing a makeup course, she began doing her own professional makeup, showcasing her skills and personal style. The turning point in her journey came when she moved to the UAE. Initially, she took a break from her passion but soon recognized the plethora of opportunities in Dubai, a city known for its dynamic and diverse culture. Encouraged by the vibrant environment, she ventured into covering events, reviewing products, and collaborating with beauty shops. Although her initial efforts were intermittent, Mennatallah resolved to pursue her passion full-time, aiming to make a significant mark in the influencing and blogging world. Mennatallah speaks highly of the fashion and beauty culture in the Middle East, particularly in Alexandria, where trends ignite quickly and spread like wildfire. She credits the region’s rich tradition in fashion for her inspiration, mentioning renowned designers like Hani Al-Bahiri, who are well-known for their exquisite bridal gowns. Living in Dubai has most definitely offered Mennatallah a unique advantage. Unlike the conservative nature of Egypt, Dubai's openness and diversity provide her with the freedom to explore and express her creativity. This freedom, she believes, is a significant factor in her growth as an influencer . The influencer industry in Dubai, she notes, is vibrant yet seasonal, with different times of the year bringing varying levels of activity based on religious and cultural festivals. Mennatallah’s love for Indian cinema is another interesting facet of her personality. A devoted fan of Bollywood, she fondly recalls skipping school to watch movies and can name films just by their scripts. Her admiration for actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Hrithik Roshan adds a touch of global culture to her local Egyptian and Emirati experiences. Looking ahead, Mennatallah is heavily focused on expanding her influence in the Gulf region. She plans to take courses to understand social media algorithms better and aims to grow her follower base significantly. Her ultimate goal is to establish a strong presence in the UAE before potentially returning to the competitive market in Egypt with a well-established profile. Mennatallah's journey from beauty to fashion is a testament to her dedication and resilience. Her story is not just about personal success but also about the broader narrative of pursuing one's passion in a rapidly changing world. As she continues to evolve and make her mark, Mennatallah Ali stands as an inspiring figure for aspiring influencers and content creators everywhere. - Where The Conversation Took Turns Like The Everest’s Terrain With Sahil Salathia
by Anushka Sharma Where The Conversation Took Turns Like The Everest’s Terrain With Sahil Salathia 27 January 2023 COVER STORIES Advertisement In a very interesting conversation with Mr. Sahil Salathia, we learnt far too much about how he perceives things outside the realm of acting and while he’s on set. Nevertheless, these conversations took turns like that of Everest(Pun Intended) and we loved him in that series! Movies aren’t all that Sahil Salathia is about. He also has his hands dipped in fashion and is quite a groundbreaking idol indeed. When asked about how he seeks to break the fashion stereotypes for the men as a fashion icon himself, he said, “Firstly, thank you for addressing me as a fashion icon: I’m humbled! Considering the boundaries that lie in fashion, they are far too many for men and women to tackle. One shouldn’t have a lot of seriousness around these boundaries. You wanna wear colour, wear colour, you wanna wear black nail paint, do that. Life is art, hence, be artistic and break these so-called boundaries! The key is to not take yourself so seriously!” The key indeed is to not take ourselves so seriously, after all! Fashion is art you wear and Sahil has made it look beyond surreal. Elucidating upon how it was like to work for the series, “Everest”, he fondly recalls, “I got a Lines Gold Award for the best debut and it was an incredible experience. We shot for a year in Dokriani glacier, and shot for a year and a half in total, considering the kind of a perfectionist that Ashutosh sir is. We really put in the work on this series, and Target and Everest are both available on Hotstar is indeed worth all the admiration! Ashutosh sir is a sheer gentleman, and I got to learn so much from the young cast and the fantastic actors that were a part of this series.” While there is so much that the actor has already got himself into, we couldn’t help but seek a glimpse of the upcoming projects he is set for in the future. He tells us all about them and how! “I’ve done two very very interesting parts in two very very very interesting web series. I can’t talk too much about it, but one is produced by Nikhil Advani and the other is produced by Viacom. I’d let them come up with more announcements, but I’ve finished filming and it was a bliss indeed!” Talking about the roles that he has particularly loved during his current tenure in the industry, he fondly recalls, “I can’t really pick a role that is closest to my heart, but I particularly loved my role as “Arjun Sabharwal”, the mountaineer from Everest, because it was my first and it was with Ashutosh, who is literally a legend. There are two more very interesting roles I’ve done which you’ll get to see soon.” As a groundbreaker in fashion and an actor whose skills speak for himself, we sought more of him than just acting. We wanted to know all about his viewpoint towards therapy for mental health issues amongst men and women in today's age and climate. He says, “Mental health is one of the pressing issues in today’s times. Considering how rapidly dynamic our lifestyles are, it’s imperative to understand the sheer importance of how mental health impacts us. Since I’m not a professional, I’d recommend one should seek help when one deems fit. Mental health is the most intrinsic part of our being and should not be ignored. Personally, I love to meditate, go to the gym and help release my endorphins through doing things that I absolutely enjoy!” As we furthered onto the topics of feminism and women empowerment, he stated, “Women empowerment is something we should all be very passionate about, since it’s not just for women, but also for the men. Considering how much we have suppressed women in the past, one ought to stand up for their rights in today’s scenario to make amends for the past. Feminism is about the rights that women rightfully deserve. It is about equality and being fair and I think everybody should believe in that.” As an actor who believes that the odds to be ever in his favour, he has an advice for everyone who seeks to get into this industry: “My advice would be to stay disciplined, stay balanced and manifest while you put in the effort. You get luckier when you work harder. Ask yourself one very important question, “Are you passionate about art or do you just wish to be famous?” Ultimately, this is what you should ask yourself before you plan to get into the industry. It’s the art that ultimately takes you places.” Art is something that is exuded through your passion for something, and the art of movies is to be known and perfected than be swooned over for the fancies that surround it. Nobody does it better than Sahil Salathia indeed. - Why India is the most depressed country in the world?
by Anadi Gupta Why India is the most depressed country in the world? 1 September 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement India is the world’s most depressed country and we don’t talk about it as much as we talk about other diseases, but you’ll be shocked to know that 300 million people worldwide are suffering from depression. Depression and bad mental health have been ignored as a serious issue since ages. Mental health is as important as physical health but sadly nobody takes it as a serious illness and avoid talking about it. People in India still take it as a taboo. A study reported in WHO, conducted for the National Care Of Medical Health, states that at least 6.5 per cent of the Indian population suffers from some form of the serious mental disorder, in spite of the rural-urban differences. Though there are effective measures and treatments, there is an extreme shortage of doctors and mental health workers like psychologists and psychiatrists. As reported latest in 2014, it was as low as ”one in 100,000 people”. The average suicide rate in India is 10.9 for every one lakh people and the majority of people who commit suicide are below 44 years of age. According to these data, India is in a serious mental health crisis but the attitude which Indians show towards it is not helpful at all. It won’t make any change. A major part of population of India is highly judgmental towards those who have any kind of mental illness. They don’t like to talk to such people because they think it will affect their mental health too. According to the surveys the people who understand it come from good socio-economic environment and are highly educated. The young kids are coming forward to support many mental health campaigns because they understand and are facing stress a lot. India has less resources and more population but one of the main aspects in which we highly fail is the stereotypical thinking of the people who live here. People still are blinded by the fake traditions and rituals. But depression is a serious mental illness which should be taken seriously otherwise it can cause long lasting severe feelings of sadness, hopelessness and loneliness. There can be different symptoms for different people and it can also be differentiated according to gender. Many people mistook depression for sadness but it is more than just being sad and lonely. Symptoms of it can last from months to years. A person with depression cannot find pleasure or joy in anything. It gets very difficult for one to start a day and get off from the bed. There is just so much hopelessness in everything they do. Everything seems so tiring and difficult. If you see a person like this please tell him to get help if needed and get a proper treatment otherwise it may result in us losing another life. Spread awareness against it, try to make people aware everywhere that mental peace and stability is the most important thing. Many celebrities are now breaking stereotypes and coming forward to talk about it publicly so people can realize its effects. Many mental health foundations are doing great work for the cause. And we can now only hope for things to get better. - Why is being Real underrated?
by Aparajita Jaiswal Why is being Real underrated? 16 July 2021 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Contemporary times arranged our lives and turned it to be a lot easier, organised and captivated. Many of us have an impeccable life in real life but people leading a different life are expected to always look good on parade which intentionally leads to deceiving their own conscience. Having an engaged and often organised life is charming, in today’s times. Nevertheless, all of us can’t possess the same thing. Neither we need to be pretentious of the reality, we are trying really hard to settle in. Every day when we wake up, we have a gruelling fight to win. Life throws uncountable targets on us either professional, emotional, or may be related to our family or relationships. And the majority of us work hard with both our body and soul to accomplish those targets. At times our own high standards become unreachable. Yet every day teaches us a lesson. Wise men learn, move on and never look back because we are neither competing with others nor are we a part of any race, organised by the society, being its Jury. Remember! When babies are born, they are born with their own blessings and short-comings. And since then, we have been building a life of our own. We succeed, we fail, we learn, we let go but we grow because There are no failures, only outcomes, as long as I learn Something, I am succeeding. We all encounter many hassles in life with respect to mental and physical health, appearances, standards of living, comparative status or more but at the very least we should cherish that we are learning and succeeding. A long life is awaited… Start your journey with the hard work you expose. You shall reap what you ought to sow. Pull off the unreal mask you have on your face. Show to the world, true warriors are you, in the race.! It’s about time when individuals shall learn to embrace the scars they are born with or have earned in the journey to reach where they are right now. My two cents here, we should at the minimum spare a minute to understand the beauty of individuals we are moving along, of the people we vicariously live through and of the people we are inspired from. Potentially then we can see right through their perfect personality, the scars they are embracing to be Strong, Fierce, Smart, Gracious, Live, Empathetic and Charming. Every individual has built a historical personality from their lives which was inevitably arduous and exceptionally perfect. And, we are able to build an exceptionally impeccable life because we never underrated our reality of being perfect in our imperfections, strong in our failures, real in this very unreal underrated world. “Don’t look back to what others have, Build your own unique real self. Perfections are underrated, Impeccable is the journey you live in.” SEARCH Women Empowerment A mere concept or a real Concern SOCIETY Looking Through The Excellence Of ‘Jaali’ Architecture SOCIETY Why the Gender Pay Gap is Wide and Disturbing SOCIETY Festival of Stones SOCIETY The Pygmalion Effect SOCIETY POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement By Anushka Sharma Uniting Voices, Shaping Futures: Dive Into Mun 2.0 At NIT Patna 8 September 2024 SOCIETY By Anushka Sharma These Healthy Habits Can Lower Your Risk Of Depression 31 August 2024 SOCIETY By Rini Pathak A Glance In The Kshitij’23: A Euphoric Escapade 26 January 2024 SOCIETY By Rini Pathak Mithibai Kshitij: Epitome Of Diverse Social Cause Empowerment 24 January 2024 SOCIETY RELATED POSTS

- The USA Is Almost Giving Up On TikTok, And Here Is Why
By Anushka Sharma The USA Is Almost Giving Up On TikTok, And Here Is Why 15 March 2024 LIFESTYLE Advertisement In the ever-evolving landscape of social media, few platforms have captured the hearts and screens of users quite like TikTok. From viral dances to comedic sketches, TikTok has become a global phenomenon, with its user base skyrocketing to over 170 million in the United States alone. However, behind the curtain of seemingly innocent cat videos and lip-sync challenges lies a brewing storm of geopolitical tension and national security concerns. The latest chapter in the TikTok saga unfolds in the hallowed halls of the US House of Representatives, where lawmakers have recently passed a bill that could spell trouble for the app and its Chinese parent company, ByteDance. The bill, aptly named the "Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act," aims to force ByteDance to divest from TikTok or risk being booted out of US app stores altogether. But why all the fuss? Well, it boils down to one word: trust. Or rather, the lack thereof. US legislators have voiced concerns that TikTok's close ties to the Chinese government could compromise user data and national security. With China's track record of tight control over its tech companies and its infamous "Great Firewall" restricting access to Western social media platforms, the fear is that TikTok could be used as a tool for surveillance or propaganda. These concerns have been exacerbated by TikTok's meteoric rise to prominence, fueled by its addictive algorithm that seems to know exactly what content users want to see before they even know it themselves. This uncanny ability to capture and retain users' attention has raised suspicions about the true intentions behind the app's development and operation. In response to mounting pressure from US lawmakers, TikTok CEO Shou Chew has adamantly denied any allegations of wrongdoing, insisting that ByteDance is a private company not under the thumb of the Chinese Communist Party. However, skeptics remain unconvinced, pointing to China's 1 percent stake in ByteDance and its control over one of the company's board members as evidence of deeper ties. As the battle over TikTok rages on, it has become a microcosm of broader tensions between the US and China. With Washington increasingly wary of Beijing's growing influence on the world stage, TikTok has become a convenient target for politicians looking to flex their muscles and protect national interests. But what does all this mean for TikTok's legions of devoted users? Well, for now, it's business as usual. The bill passed by the House of Representatives does not explicitly ban TikTok outright but rather gives ByteDance six months to divest its ownership. However, some observers argue that this is essentially a death sentence for the app, as finding a buyer willing to navigate the treacherous waters of US-China relations may prove to be an insurmountable challenge. Despite the uncertainty surrounding its future, TikTok remains defiant, with supporters rallying behind the platform in the name of free speech and digital innovation. Whether TikTok will emerge victorious or succumb to the pressures of geopolitical brinkmanship remains to be seen. But one thing is for certain: the battle for TikTok's soul is far from over, and the stakes have never been higher. So, grab your popcorn and stay tuned for the next twist in this captivating tale of politics, power, and social media supremacy. What do you think? Do you think the era of TikTok has finally come to an end?
