  • Anxiety

by Anadi Gupta Anxiety 27 July 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Anxiety feels different for everyone. Its symptoms can last for a long time, or come and go. Anxiety is tough, not just for the people that have it but also for those who are stuck with them. It is understandably confusing at times. So, here are some things for you to remember when being with someone with anxiety. No one likes to be defined by the one fault that they have in themselves. They are more than their anxiety. If you really want to care and do something for a person suffering from anxiety then always make them realize that you appreciate the individual going through this phase and you really want to be supportive towards them. It can make them exhausted easily. It causes people to live in hypertension as they get overwhelmed and sad very quickly. Because of hypertension their mind always stays unstable and their body stays highly activated and all of this causes fatigue. If you see someone panicking then at that time they don’t want you to ask if they are fine or not because you already know the answer. The best way to help them at the time is listen to their needs and if they ask you to leave them alone, just leave them alone without forcing them to react furthermore. They don’t always express but they appreciate you sticking by them. They know you are not supposed to deal with their irrationality but you are still sticking by them. They know their reactions can be very hurtful and hard for you to digest and there can be a few things that you like to do but you are not able to do them because of them. There is one thing which affects the person with anxiety and the people around them and that is they over think situations a lot, almost everything. Results of over thinking may end in hurting the people around them. But they know your value no matter how subtle their responses are. Over thinking causes many misunderstandings between people. It can happen because of the traumatic incidents they have faced in the past. It is harder for them to let go of things as easily as people not dealing with anxiety can. Changes can be very difficult for the individuals with anxiety. Everybody has a comfort zone and getting out of it is very difficult even if it may seem normal. When they face a big change, it can take them a lot longer to settle back down and handle situations like before and deal with that zone again. You just need to be a little more patient and understanding while dealing with those suffering from anxiety. They are doing their best and are trying their best. Sometimes all it takes is a person who can listen to them carefully without any judgments or opinions as it becomes easier to communicate if they feel protected with you. They are very well known from the fact that their anxieties are irrational but it does not stop them from worrying. Sometimes due to anxiety and panic attacks a person can be very exhausted and it can be possible that they would need some time alone and you may have to understand the fact that they are not ignoring you while doing that. They sometimes just need some time for themselves, to understand and ponder upon their self-worth and what they are doing in life. Sometimes it can be possible that when you are telling them incidents very excitedly but they could not pay attention and you can’t feel their presence in that moment. It is not their fault as because of the instability of their brain they have a tougher time concentrating. It’s completely all right to be a person who suffers from anxiety. It does not define anyone. It can be a struggle at times but what matters the most is how you fight against it and how you come out at the other end. That is what makes a person stronger than anybody else. It is not your weakness. Individuals with anxieties are the same as other people. They have fun, like adventures and experience the same feelings and things as everybody else. There are times when things get difficult but these were a few tips on taking care of someone you love who also deals with anxiety. #Anxiety #Selfhelp #Anxietyattack #Mentalabuse #Hate #AnxietyAnxietiesSufferingfromanxietyPanicPanicattackPanicking #Panicattack #Mentalillness #Mentalhealth SEARCH Women Empowerment A mere concept or a real Concern SOCIETY Looking Through The Excellence Of ‘Jaali’ Architecture SOCIETY Why the Gender Pay Gap is Wide and Disturbing SOCIETY Festival of Stones SOCIETY The Pygmalion Effect SOCIETY POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement By Anushka Sharma Uniting Voices, Shaping Futures: Dive Into Mun 2.0 At NIT Patna 8 September 2024 SOCIETY By Anushka Sharma These Healthy Habits Can Lower Your Risk Of Depression 31 August 2024 SOCIETY By Rini Pathak A Glance In The Kshitij’23: A Euphoric Escapade 26 January 2024 SOCIETY By Rini Pathak Mithibai Kshitij: Epitome Of Diverse Social Cause Empowerment 24 January 2024 SOCIETY RELATED POSTS

  • Life Changing Trips Everyone Should Experience At Least Once

by Priti Sharma Life Changing Trips Everyone Should Experience At Least Once 15 February 2023 TRAVEL Advertisement Advertisement A vacation is usually an excellent idea. It's never a terrible thing to switch up your surroundings and put work aside for a few days, no matter where you're going. However bizarre it may sound, becoming bored when on vacation is possible. I'll give you an illustration: You're not taking full benefit of travel if your yearly vacation involves going to the same little beach town every summer, where you stay in the same lodgings and dine at the same eateries. It's good to return to a location that seems familiar, but discovering new things is one of the most delicate parts of traveling. It's a chance to venture beyond your comfort zone and experience sights, sounds, and tastes that are unavailable to you at home. If you're ready to try something different the next time you go OOO, let us give you some ideas. We've put up a list of 11 amazing journeys that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. You can cross these off your bucket list when you go on your next journey. 1. Hike in a National Park One of the finest ways to see the natural beauty that can be found right here in the United States is to visit a national park. It's hardly surprising that tourists from all over the world flock to these locations given the abundance of animals, magnificent natural features, and unrivaled stargazing. Make it a point to visit at least one (but ideally many!) of the 63 national parks that are dispersed around the nation during your lifetime. The Grand Canyon, Rocky Mountains, Yellowstone, and Glacier are just a handful of the amazing places that should be on your bucket list. 2. Visit Paris Romance, creativity, fashion, and cuisine. Although Paris sells them throughout the year, the Salon du Chocolat is when they are highlighted. The top chocolatiers, confectioners, and cocoa specialists in the world celebrate unique flavors and innovations every fall. Paris is usually an excellent option because of its iconic architecture, world-class museums, and delectable cuisine, to name a few. It's a city that everyone must see at least once. Visit Paris for the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre; stay for the city's quaint sidewalk cafés, outdoor markets, and stunning parks. 3. Head to a Tropical Beach Nothing screams leisure like sprawling out on a beach with a fruity cocktail in your hand and the crystal blue sea out in front of you. A leisurely trip to the tropics can be exactly what you need if you're used to holidays that are jam-packed with activities. With places like Hawaii, Tahiti, the Maldives, or of countless Caribbean islands, you can't go wrong. 4. Experience an African Safari The experience of viewing lions, giraffes, and elephants in their natural habitats is incomparable to visiting a zoo. One of those once-in-a-lifetime events that you must actually experience is an African safari. You will experience incredible animals and scenery that you won't find anywhere else on the globe while being led by a local expert. Start your vacation in one of the top-rated safari locations, such as Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania, or South Africa. 5. Take a Tour of Italy It is impossible to choose just one Italy location to check off your bucket list because of the country's diverse landscapes and rich history, including Rome, Tuscany, and the sparkling Almafi Coast. The greatest way to experience it is as a complete. Italy's train system, fortunately, makes it simple to travel the whole length of the nation. 6. See the Big Apple Nothing compares to New York City. It serves as the famous backdrop for several films and TV series and serves as a representation of a great deal of American culture. Of course, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, and the Brooklyn Bridge are all must-see features, but what will make you fall in love with New York is its different neighborhoods, indie eateries, and hidden-gem boutiques. 7. Spot the Northern Lights A little price to pay for some wind and snow is the chance to view the Northern Lights, which involves enduring Arctic conditions. The stunning light show may be seen in places like northern Canada, Alaska, Iceland, Finland, and Norway, despite the fact that the phenomenon is notoriously hard to spot. 8. Road Trip Across the Country Even though flying is frequently the more convenient choice, a road vacation includes travel as a component of the experience. It provides you the chance to eat quickly in quaint rural towns or take photographs at tacky roadside sights en route to your destination. Additionally, you never know when you'll find a fantastic location that wasn't on your schedule. Therefore, inflate your tires, pack the car, and don't forget to bring a tonne of goodies. 9. Visit One of the Seven World Wonders The seven wonders must be included on each traveler's bucket list. Any one of these wonders is certainly worth the trek across the globe; they are among the most amazing human-built buildings ever made. Choose from the Taj Mahal, the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, the Colosseum, Chichén Itzá, Christ the Redeemer, Machu Picchu, and Chichén Itzá. 10. Explore Australia Australia is a place that is genuinely unique. It has famous landmarks like the Great Barrier Reef and the Sydney Opera House, as well as a broad range of animals that are unique to this continent (think kangaroos, koalas, and wallabies). Australia provides an experience for everyone, with everything from humming cities and sandy beaches to deep jungles and alpine summits. 11. Eat Your Way Through Southeast Asia Southeast Asia, which includes nations like Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines, is unquestionably a culinary lover's dream. The area offers so many mouthwatering delicacies that it would be hard to sample them all, and it boasts some of the greatest street cuisines on the whole globe. In addition, the region is rather affordable for travel (and very well-liked among backpackers! ), making it possible to see several nations in one journey. What's next on your travel list? With so many places worth traveling to, it can be hard to narrow down your top spots to visit. Sometimes what draws us to a place are the well-known sights, delectable cuisine, and luxurious hotels, and other times it's the bragging rights that come with seeing every continent, nation, or state. Whatever your reason, we've compiled a list of 11 extraordinary journeys that include once-in-a-lifetime encounters and renowned sites that are unique to each location. What then qualifies a vacation as really transformative? One thing is certain, though: After reading this list of iconic road trips and African safaris, you'll be itching to start planning your next big journey. • How to Travel Solo like a Pro

by Rupashree Ravi How to Travel Solo like a Pro 16 August 2022 TRAVEL Advertisement Advertisement A one of a kind and once in a lifetime experience is travelling, and solo travel tops that. From budgeting, keeping calm in an emergency, to meeting interesting new people, and building a soul-enriching and meaningful relationship with yourself, it teaches you everything. The post pandemic world has seen a resurgence of people getting out of their homes to try and be a part of everything they can before the next inevitable global emergency. Solo travel is where it’s at. The boundless independence to the time for self-reflection that solo travel allows you, it is both exhilarating and enlightening, no matter your age. Traveling unlocks new parts of ourselves. Soloists have emerged as a fast-growing segment in the travel industry during the past decade. But people have their perceptions, misconceptions and fears when it comes to travelling solo. Some of the most seasoned solo travellers will tell you they didn’t initially set out to adventure on their own. It can come with sheer spontaneity or proper planning; there is no in-between. Along the way, many get hooked on this independent style of traveling — freely wending their way through countries on their own itineraries, or lack thereof, and enjoying the joy of meeting new paths and people. Discover new spots all by yourself With so many places to travel to, it can be overwhelming to pick your first solo travel destination. Start by giving your trip a focus, whether it’s an activity you’ve been wanting to try like hot air ballooning or a destination that’s long been on your list. So pick your destination, and leave lots of room for serendipity. Discover new restaurants and cuisines, museums, or sunset spots on your own, and follow the recommendations of different people like the local people and other tourists from different walks of life. This will build confidence and a great deal of adventure in you. You can meet people from different cultures and backgrounds Next, set a budget and have some flexibility as well. Hotel rooms are great, but you’d be surprised to know that hostels are amazing for networking and socializing. Many even have options for single rooms if you don’t want to share a space. As you set your trip budget, give yourself an extra ten per cent leeway for any change in plans. A solo trip is the best way to perfect the art of the selfie. Explore new camera settings. Or you can ask random strangers or fellow tourists on the street to click a photograph of you. Adventure and spontaneity are the two ingredients for a great solo trip Of course, safety is one of the most important aspects of solo travel. Always remain in well-lit areas and avoid shady places. When in crowded areas, stay clear of pickpockets and guard your belongings well. Share your location with a trusted contact and download maps and routes ahead of time. The beauty of solo travel is that you can have time by yourself, but you can also link up with other people who are travelling alone like you. Eventually, you will learn to enjoy your own company, and alone time is underrated. And when you meet people you click with, be open to adventure. So, here’s your push to get out on your own and explore the world! • Best Halloween Destinations In The World

by Priti Sharma Best Halloween Destinations In The World 13 February 2023 TRAVEL Advertisement Advertisement You may be wondering where in the globe to go as Halloween approaches. Here are some of the top locations. So, whether Halloween is one of your favorite holidays or you simply enjoy visiting odd, eerie tourist sites, you'll find some of the top Halloween locations around the globe in this post. We discuss places with a long history of Halloween celebrations, areas that play host to well-known Halloween events, and sites that are just eerie, making them ideal for a Halloween getaway (for those with the necessary level of bravery, that is). Salem, Massachusetts: We cannot forget about Salem when discussing the top places in the world to celebrate Halloween. The entire city goes into "Halloween mode" over the whole month of October, and there are many "haunted events" happening all over the place. Parades, costume contests, Halloween cruises, several visitor-friendly ghost tours, and more are all available. There are also a few more fascinating places to see, such as the Salem Witch Museum and the House of Seven Gables. Savannah, Georgia: In case you weren't aware, Savannah is really regarded as one of the nation's most eerie cities. The city of Savannah is a terrific choice for this list of the greatest Halloween vacation spots since it has a variety of dark tourism attractions that draw visitors all year long. In Savannah, there are several walking ghost tours that are quite popular with tourists, with the ghost & gravestones trolley tour perhaps being the most well-liked one. Reading, Pennsylvania (Shocktoberfest): In addition to being named the poorest small city in America in 2011, Reading is renowned for staging the legendary Shocktoberfest, one of the most fantastic Halloween celebrations in the nation. It began as a lone hayride and eventually expanded into a sizable "horror park" that draws thrill-seekers from all over the world. This is one of the top-rated horror attractions in the US, according to ratings. The festival's primary draws include a zombie safari tour, a massacre fright zone, zombie laser tag, and more. New Orleans, Louisiana: Our list of the greatest Halloween vacation spots in the US would not be complete without New Orleans, which is said to be one of the most haunted towns in the US. It's a terrific idea to spend Halloween in New Orleans, not only because of the city's haunted locations, intriguing parades, and history of voodoo magic (there is even an entire museum dedicated to this), but also because New Orleans is one of the most quaint towns in the nation. Isla de la Munecas, Mexico: El Isla de la Munecas gives the term "scary" a whole new meaning. All of the cities we have discussed in this post so far have a Halloween vibe. One of the spookiest islands in the world, this Mexican island has an interesting past. There was just one person living on this island in the 1950s, and his name was Julian Santana Barrera. He once discovered a young girl's body on the coast. Julian reportedly began hanging dolls from every tree he could locate on the island because the girl's ghost kept bothering him. Visitors to the islands have reportedly reported seeing the dolls move and whisper at night. To add to the dread, Julian drowned himself on the same site where he found the girl's body several years after finding her body. Dublin, Ireland: One of the nicest places in Europe to enjoy Halloween is Dublin. Let's not forget that Ireland is where Halloween first appeared. Samhain, an ancient Celtic feast, was the forerunner of Halloween. Going back to a holiday's origins is usually a pleasant experience since Halloween grew into what we know and love today through time. Halloween creates an exciting atmosphere throughout Ireland every year, with Dublin hosting one of the most vibrant events. Halloween is celebrated with a variety of gatherings and festivities, and the Irish really know how to party (as you already may know). Here are a few suggestions you may utilize to have a good time while being mindful of the environment wherever you go for Halloween: As much as you can, reuse! Create your own costumes instead of purchasing them! I recall our return from Northern Ireland. We didn't have much time to get ready. So, one of my pals just transformed an old bed sheet into a ghost outfit! It was excellent! Skip the plastics: If you're planning a party, just use regular cutlery and glasses. Use bamboo or stainless steel straws if you wish to offer beverages with straws. In lieu of carrying the dishes, search for biodegradable plastic substitutes. • Looking Through The Excellence Of ‘Jaali’ Architecture

by Anushka Singh Looking Through The Excellence Of ‘Jaali’ Architecture 1 December 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Architectural excellence holds a significant spot in all historical sites over India. Even people with no interest in architectural art fail to overlook the eye-catching beauty of its forms. One such form of architectural design is ‘Jali‘ or ‘Jaali’. Prevalent amongst Islamic and Indo-Islamic architecture, Jaali refers to the perforated stone screen with ornamental patterns crafted by keeping in mind the art of geometry and other artistic intricacies. It mostly included geometrical openwork in the beginning but subsequently, the Mughals also used finely engraved floral or plant-based designs reflecting their Islamic origins. Apart from being an exquisite add-on to the Islamic architecture, Jaali has multiple practical usages and purposes behind its origin. Jaali was primitively designed to provide an expedient partition for women to view life outside their precincts while remaining in ‘purdah’, meaning the olden social custom of female seclusion, followed mostly during the 16th to 18th century amongst Muslim and Hindu communities. It alsorenders a clear view from within while blocking the same from the outer space, satisfying the role of being a perfect screen and an effective privacy provider for women to endure seclusion from all the meddling eyes. Coming to the wind factor of air passage stimulation; Jaali also performs the function of being a natural low cost and energy consuming air conditioner. Owing to the generic behavior of fluids, the air gets compressed while flowing through the small apertures of Jaalis and gains increased velocity, resulting in expansion and better diffusion even in the case of a clement wind. This natural phenomenon of compression and release of cool air works just like the mechanical air-conditioning compressors used in this day and age. Another role of Jaali includes cutting down the heat and controlling the light. The aperture comes to run yet again and efficiently decreases the ingress of heat in the day-time. It can also be an excellent replacement for expensive and conventional window system by favorably performing the function of filtering the daylight and letting in the adequate amount of the same. Also, it welcomes a classic view as the perforations cast stippled shadows on the walls and floors that keeps moving with varying angles of the sun. This 16th-century wonder has overpassed space and time to now exist across every next material and has become an everyday part of design lexicon. With all the practical elements of Jaali, it outlives to be splendidly artistic and strengthening environment sustainability. It continues to be a common device in various interior and exterior designs, be it on balconies and terraces or even partitions and decorative screens. Some consider it to be art like that of poetry and some simply a scientific creation of fabulous architecture. But that is exactly what the role of Jaali is about, of the interplay between the opposites; of cold and humid, of public and private, of light and shadow and that of simplicity and complexity. • Divorce - Not A Big Deal

by Mudita Bagla Divorce - Not A Big Deal 24 January 2023 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Marriages happen. Every individual who gets married wishes for a blissful married life. But do all marriages really work out? No, absolutely not. There are many reasons for the same. Just like marriage, divorce too is a chapter of life which starts when the chapter of marriage ends. That's it. When everyone around us supports and accepts our marriages, why should divorce be any different? Why, then, is it treated as a crime or something that one should be ashamed of? Divorce is not a bad thing. In fact, it is a blessing in disguise which takes you out of the worst phase of your life. Divorce is future-centric and gives a new meaning and purpose to our life, a life which may have become meaningless. We have some great examples of men and women in India and around the world doing incredibly well in their lives after they got divorced. Criticising a person's divorce is the easiest thing people can do, but the one who goes through it knows it's the best decision they could have made for themselves. Marriage is definitely an important part of a person's life but life is not only just about marriage; there is so much more to it than just that. Once you are divorced, people may judge you, doubt your character or even think that you have a mental illness, and if by chance they see you happy, then that will raise a huge question for the so-called society. "Look at him/her; how can he/she be happy?" But that's their thinking and we shouldn't bother at all. Being divorced is much better than being a living corpse. People often give up their life due to unhappy marriages. And you know what? Let's talk about divorce as positively and normally as we talk about marriage. Things don’t always happen as we expect them to, and that’s all right. Live and let others live on their own terms. Spread positivity! • Ethiopia: a country seven years behind the rest of the world

by Aishwarya Ethiopia: a country seven years behind the rest of the world 1 November 2022 TRAVEL Advertisement Advertisement What if I say that, you can go back in time? Back in time, that too seven years back in time than the rest of the world. That’s unbelievable, right? Well, that’s possible if you plan to travel to Ethiopia. Yes, you read that right. Ethiopia is an African country known for its unique calendar system. The Ethiopian calendar has not only twelve months but, it has thirteen months. It has 12 months of 30 days each and the last month is called “Pagume”- which has five days to it. The month of Pagume has six days in a leap year which comes every four years. Ethiopia’s calendar is derived from the idea that Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden for seven years before they were expelled for their sins. They were promised to be saved by god, and after 5,500 years- the promise was fulfilled. Ethiopians call their calculating method as “Bahere Hasab” which translates to “sea of thoughts”. This calculating method calculates even Jesus Christ’s birth differently. The Catholic Church amended its calculation in 500 AD, but the Ethiopian Church kept it unchanged. You might be wondering, as of which year are they currently living in? According to the Ethiopian calendar, they are living in the year 2014. You will find it even more unique that they celebrate their New Year on the 11th of September. On the leap years, they celebrate it on the 12th of September. They call their New Year “Enkutatash”, where families celebrate and children receive gifts. A special meal is also prepared and a Coffee Ceremony is held- which lasts for hours. Ethiopia is considered the birthplace of coffee and hence, is a heaven for coffee lovers. It is mind-boggling that Ethiopia has a different time system too. You are already feeling alien, I know. Ethiopia has a 12-hour system, where the day starts at six in the morning and ends at six in the evening. So, it's a dawn to dusk and, a dusk to dawn system, where both midday and midnight are at six. It is also to be noted that the Ethiopian calendar is greatly influenced by biblical anecdotes. The first day of the week is called “Ehud”, which means “the first day” in the ancient Ge’ez language- which is the liturgical language of the Ethiopian Church. According to the Ethiopian calculations, they have 365 days and 6 hours, 2 minutes and 24 seconds. Once in 600 years, two minutes and twenty-four seconds add up to the day and form a seventh day- known as Rena Mealt and Rena Lelit. Moreover, every 600 years, a unique star called Aqede comes out and shadows the sun causing a full solar eclipse. Now, the internet is amused by this fact and is reacting in many ways. Many consider it to be cool, some creepy and some even philosophically call time travel. Amusement would be a small word to describe the reaction of the netizens. You and I are from the same world as Ethiopia is. Ethiopia makes us wonder, if time is actually, just an illusion. What do you think? Well, now many of you will be convinced to visit Ethiopia for a much-needed retreat (Read: time travel). For the ones who aren't, have some other reasons for visiting Ethiopia too. The arid plains, majestic mountains, lush greens, scenic lakes; ask for it and you have it. Let me also mention the majestic, 150ft, Blue Nile Falls for the win. Travel makes us wander and wonder, maybe that’s why we love traveling so much. On to the next destination, as our hearts keep wandering through the timelines. You might be wondering, as of which year are they currently living in? According to the Ethiopian calendar, they are living in the year 2014. #Ethiopia #EthiopianCalendar #SevenYearsBehind #Travel #Explore #TravellingFacts #Africa #EthiopianCulture SEARCH 7 Abandoned Cities In India And Abroad That Are Too Beautiful To Be Forgotten TRAVEL Blue Lagoon – Iceland TRAVEL Palm Islands TRAVEL WORLD PEACE DOME TRAVEL Blood Falls In Antarctica: Explained TRAVEL POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement By Anushka Sharma Chiang Mai Is So Unrealistically Magical; And Here Is Why 28 June 2024 TRAVEL By Anushka Sharma Lakshadweep Is A Heaven In Disguise And Here Is Why 3 April 2024 TRAVEL By Anushka Sharma If Uzbekistan Isn’t On Your Travel List, Here Is Exactly Why It Should Be 21 March 2024 TRAVEL By Anushka Sharma The Fashion Capitals Of Asia: Exploring Style Beyond Borders 19 March 2024 TRAVEL RELATED POSTS

  • The Fractured Fairytale

by Akash Khatri The Fractured Fairytale 1 December 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement In June 2016, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales began a relationship with Meghan Markle, a former actress and a celebrity philanthropist. The engagement was announced on November 27, 2017, by Harry’s father Charles, Prince of Wales. It generated generally positive comments about having a mixed-race person as a member of the royal family, especially in regard to Commonwealth countries with populations of blended or native ancestry. According to DailyMail, by an energy firm they have been branded the least eco-friendly Royals that found that their African tour had generated a hefty carbon footprint of an estimated three tonnes of CO2 each. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex engaged considerably less with environmental charities and engagements as compared to other members of the Royal family. Markle retired from acting after her engagement and began the lengthy process of becoming a British citizen. Meghan was baptized by the archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, and was confirmed her into the Church of England on March 6, 2018. The private ceremony took place in the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace and was performed with water from the River Jordan. The marriage ceremony was held on May 19 at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. It was reportedly agreed in advance that excess funds generated from the BBC broadcast of the ceremony would go to a charity chosen by the newlywed couple. In April 2020, Feeding Britain was nominated to receive £90,000 from the BBC, they provided food packages to families in food poverty. After the wedding, the Duke and Duchess lived at Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace in London. They later moved to Frogmore Cottage in the Home Park of Windsor Castle. The Crown Estate refurbished the cottage at a cost of £2.4 million which was paid out of the Sovereign Grant. The Duke has reportedly paid back this amount in full. The Duchess gave birth to a son on May 6, 2019 named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor who is seventh in the line of succession to the British throne. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s office moved to Buckingham Palace and officially closed on March 31, 2020, when the Sussexes ceased “undertaking official engagements in support of the Queen”. After some months in Canada and the United States, the couple bought a house in June 2020 on the former estate of Riven Rock in Montecito, California. Currently, they live in a $14million mansion in Santa Barbara. Despite a few interruptions to his parental leave, the royal is said to have been sharing the load of the new-born with his wife. They have been following modern parenting techniques for their son’s upbringing. They even made a shocking decision to move from the UK and out of the royal spotlight. In 2020, harry and Meghan decided to step down as senior members of the royal family. 95% of the couple’s income was given to them annually by Charles, Harry’s father as part of his income from the Dutchy of Cornwell. They announced that they would balance between United kingdom and North America while also seeking financial independence as well as continuing to support their charities and the Queen. In March 2020, Harry’s appearance at the opening of the Silverstone Experience in Silverstone Circuit together with racing driver Lewis Hamilton was his final solo engagement as a senior royal before he and his wife officially stepped down on 31 March. News was in the air later that month after the duke and duchess recorded a video message for Times 100 urging Americans to vote, just weeks before the November 3 elections that the royal would consider running for president. Surprisingly the close folks denied any news of Meghan’s intentions in politics. According to observations though Prince Harry appears to improve his relationship with his brother Prince William they are not as close as they once were, on the other hand, it’s unlikely Meghan will ever want to return as she couldn’t achieve her desire to change the world while working as a member of the royal family. However, Prince Harry doesn’t share the same political ambitions as his wife and would want to work to help the disadvantaged. They have apparently burnt some bridges that now seem to be beyond repair. Harry is believed to be hurt after his request to lay a wreath at the Cenotaph on his behalf was denied by courtiers as he is no longer a working member of the Royal Family. The same has been denied by his grandmother the Queen, who is believed to be unaware of the request from Harry and has continued to keep the door open for his return to frontline duties. After resettling, the couple seems to have unveiled new Hollywood careers. They have found a yet to be known production company and signed a multilayer deal with 193 million worldwide subscribers company, Netflix which will pay them to make documentaries, feature films, children’s programming and scripted shows. The couple releases a statement stating, ” Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope. As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.” Author Ingrid Seward slammed the way the couple marked Remembrance Day. Though the Sussex’s appeared to be on their own in the vast Los Angeles Cemetery, they had employed the services of celebrity fashion photographer to record their every scripted move after snaps showed the pair laying an all-green wreath. Royal author Sean Smith whose book Meghan Misunderstood revolves around the former Suits actress feels that within a week Meghan went from being a human right’s campaigner to Prince Harry’s hottie, within a week. The people want old Harry back but it seems like he is now lost forever.
