  • Legendary Female Icons Who Made Fashion Statements In The 20th Century

by Prarthana Rohatgi Legendary Female Icons Who Made Fashion Statements In The 20th Century 18 February 2023 FASHION Advertisement "Fashion is an art and you are the canvas" ~ Savio Fonseca Fashion is the art of styling oneself, and a form of self-expression. Fashion is often used by people to build up their unique identity in the outside world, an exclusive part of them that represents who they're as a person and their creative identity. Women have always played a significant role in evolving distinctive fashion styles and often became major trendsetters. Like any other part of the world India also carries its unique fashion statements and many Lady Icons who were acknowledged for their exceptional styles and fits, not only by their mother nation but also by many other global magazines. Here are listed 4 women who became prominent characters of the fashion industry and influenced it massively and limitlessly even in the 20th century, the era when there were many limits to the rights of women. 1. Maharani Indira Devi of Cooch, Behar (1892-1968) Born on 19 February 1892 and initially known as Princess Indira Raje, Maharani Indira Devi was the only daughter of Sayajirao Gaekwad III of Baroda and his second wife Maharani Chimnabai. She grew up at the opulent Lakshmi Vilas Palace in Baroda and was one of the first Indian princesses to be given a western education after the abolishment of the purdah system. She fell in love with Prince Jitendra Narayan of Cooch Behar, a junior Princely State, and scandalously got married to him. The couple later became the Maharaja and Maharani of Cooch, Behar. Indira Devi was the mother of 5 children and became a widow almost a decade after her marriage and ended up becoming the Regent of Cooch, Behar due to the minority of her eldest son, prince Jagaddipendra Narayan. Growing up in the palatial halls of Laxmi Vilas Palace in Baroda, Maharani Indira Devi was an avid enthusiast of chiffon sarees embellished with delicate zardozi, gota, pearl, and gold embroidery. She made the trend of wearing silk chiffon saris, a royal statement. Which till today is followed in full glory. Maharani Indira Devi’s unparalleled elegance and unique fashion flair are a source of inspiration for numerous fashion brands, even today. She was known very well known for her keen eyes for fashion, beauty, and glamour all over the globe. She even became a leading figure in Anglo-Indian society. Salvatore Ferragamo is known to be her favorite designer. 2. Rani Sita Devi Of Kapurthala (1915-2002) Known as Princess Karam and the Pearl of India, Rani Sita Devi was the daughter of Raja Uday Raj Singh of Kashipur, Uttarakhand, and wife of Karamjit Singh, a younger son of Maharaja Jagatjit Singh of the princely state of Kapurthala in Punjab, British India. She was awarded the Kaisar-i-Hind Medal In 1944, for her work in raising funds for Indian soldiers in the Second World War. She was widely regarded as one of the most beautiful princesses of her country, and a glamorous woman of her day. When she was just 19 years of age, Vogue magazine called her a “secular goddess” and at the age of 22, Look magazine named her one of the five best ladies on the planet. She soon became the inspiration and muse of many top photographers and fashion designers of the world. Sita Devi's preferred couture was Mainbocher who was more famously known for designing the wedding dress of Wallis Simpson when she married the Duke of Windsor. Mainbocher was commissioned by the Queen to design chiffon saris and fur coats. In early 1939, at Lady Mendl's tea in honor of the Hollywood dietitian, Gayelord Hauser, Sita Devi was listed among the twelve most glamorous women in the world. Elsa Schiaparelli created her 1935 collection of evening gowns based on Maharani’s saris. She still firmly is known as a legendary fashion icon in India and she'll always be. 3. Maharani Gayatri Devi (1919-2009) Born in 1919 to Indira Devi of Cooch, Behar, and Maharaja Jitendra Narayana, Gayatri Devi was a global icon celebrated for her fashion statements and beauty. She became a successful politician in the Swatantra Party, after India's independence and the abolition of the princely states. Gayatri Devi was a particularly avid equestrienne. She was an excellent rider and an able Polo player. She was a good shooter and enjoyed many days out on 'Shikars'. Gayatri was fond of cars and is credited with importing the first Mercedes-Benz W126, a 500 SEL to India which was later shipped to Malaysia. She also owned several Rolls-Royces and an aircraft. Being the daughter of Indira Devi of Cooch, she inherited her mother's grace, style, and avid enthusiasm for chiffon. Her jewelry was heavily influenced by western contemporary designs and a string of pearls was her favorite which eventually became her trademark. She made her way into Vogue Magazine's "Top 10 most beautiful women in the world" collection as well. Besides being greatly prosperous, she was also a source of inspiration to many fashionistas across the country and also globally. 4. Madhubala (1933-1969) Mumtaz Jehan Begum Dehlavi or known by the name Madhubala was an Indian actress and producer who worked in Hindi- Cinema. She's said to appear in over 60 films in her active career of a decade. Editor Baburao Patel called her the "queen of charity" as s he performed actively in charity. She was a timeless Indian beauty who not only ruled Hindi cinema but also the hearts of people. In Bollywood, Madhubala was known for her appealing sense of fashion, beauty, and charm. She was also titled 'Marilyn Monroe of Bollywood'. The credit for the Anarkali suit becoming a trend and fashion statement goes to Madhubala, which she flaunted gracefully in the song 'jab pyaar kiya to darna kya' from the movie Mughl-e-azam. She also brought in many fashion trends such as off-shoulder, midi dresses, and plain chiffon sarees as well. • Male Fashion and Masculinity

by Priti Sharma Male Fashion and Masculinity 8 November 2022 FASHION Advertisement “Fashion is knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn.”- Orson Welles. A flower of creativity has blossomed in men’s fashion in recent years, igniting the menswear renaissance and refashioning archaic historical ideas of what it means to be masculine or feminine. In particular, feminine and masculine have been shaped and constrained by the gendered expectations of fashion: skirts and dresses are girly, whereas suits are for men; heels are for women, and sports or athletic gear is more masculine. This debate over who should wear what has persisted throughout history. Because of these harmful ideas about what it means to be a man, men are expected to dress nicely to be considered "truly masculine," or else they become weak, frail, feminine, or gay. But none of these terms—"feminine," "gay," "soft," or "fragile"—should ever be used as a derogatory epithet. “The ‘manly men’ are those who have the strength and courage to dress in whatever they are confident and comfortable with and most importantly of their preference.” For many centuries, the way men dressed was regulated—with strict guidelines—in terms of their position in the social hierarchy. Fashion has long been political and associated with power. Men in the seventeenth century were demonstrating traits of power when they appeared in flamboyant velvet and lace ensembles, caps decorated with ostrich feathers, and red-heeled shoes. The French Revolution ushered in significant change as well as the beginnings of more gender-neutral male attire. Male fashion these days follows different channels of transformation. The regular grooming of males is increasingly including makeup. The goal of skincare for men does not include making them seem attractive. In Western consumer shops, the moisturizer was formerly prohibited, but today it's ubiquitous, according to Gough. Along with other roles traditionally held by women, such as parenting and cooking, "makeup is one of the last bastions of femininity that males are creeping onto." Is the future of masculinity being defined by current trends in fashion? Probably, yes. Billy Porter's performance as "a living piece of political art" as he walked the Oscars red carpet in a tuxedo ball gown is evidence of the changes that have taken place, but when might those Hollywood fantasies come true for the average person? While certain Dusty Springfield-inspired miniskirts (from Charles Jeffrey) are regarded a tad "full-on," leopard print, neon, and "mirts"—men's skirts—are highlighted in British GQ's chart of menswear trends for Autumn/Winter 2019. Harry Styles utilizes the language of fashion to debunk common notions about what it means to be a man. Styles has now been able to modify the stereotypical image of conventional masculinity that the media marketed during his One Direction days as an ultra-male womanizer by changing his appearance. He cheerfully explains that he cherishes being in touch with his femininity as he openly flaunts nail paint, glittery suits, tutus, tiaras, and gowns today. No less of a man is Styles as a result of this. However, the boundaries imposed by toxic masculinity are starting to dissolve as menswear possibilities finally move away from this constricting gendered split. In December 2020, Styles became the first guy to appear alone on the cover of Vogue while proudly wearing a dress. Many people appreciated his cover, but it also sparked debate. In response, conservative writer Candace Owens tweeted, "There is no civilization that can thrive without strong males... Bring back the strong guys”. When he shared another image of himself posing for his Variety cover shot in a baby blue pleated suit with white ruffles and a V-neck cut, Styles deftly flipped her statements on their head by explicitly repeating them. His article exposes the toxic masculinity that permeates our culture and demonstrates the fact that a guy may define what it means to be "manly" for himself. Whether he is wearing a dress or not, he is still just as much of a man. Contrasted sharply with 19th-century fashion, which grew much more gender-specific, is this opulently masculine style. Men who wore skirts stopped wearing them once trousers became the norm. The "gentleman" was developed, and the suit developed into the pinnacle of masculine style, signifying male virility, power, and professionalism. In the modern office, menswear nearly always centers on the suit, which is often simple and dark in color. The tie, another not-so-subtle emblem of manhood, completes the look. However, the boundaries imposed by toxic masculinity are starting to dissolve as menswear possibilities finally move away from this constricting gendered split. While the western world is comfortable with women wearing trousers and male attire but a slight change in male fashion and beauty standards questions their masculinity. Because of cultural changes, there is no longer a harmful clothing code for being a guy. Even Daniel Craig attended the most recent James Bond premiere in a pink velvet suit. Daniel Craig's ability to dazzle the red carpet in a vision of pink illustrates just how much the idea of "manliness" has altered. As Harry Styles has demonstrated, being a man today can mean anything one wants it to mean. The'manly guys' are those who have the guts and strength to dress whatever they like. #MaleFashion #Masculinity #Feminine #Manly #Gender #GenderSpecific #BillyPorter #HarryStyles #Masculine #DanielCraig #Skincare #MakeUp SEARCH The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom FASHION Fashion In The 19th Century FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION The Influence Of Kanye West On Fashion FASHION K-Pop Fashion And Its Impact On Global Wardrobe FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Anushka Sharma Dubai Fashion Week Day Five: Emerging Talents, Cultural Heritage, And Global Fashion Dialogues 14 September 2024 FASHION By Anushka Sharma Marina Ignjat: A Journey Through Style And Travel 13 September 2024 FASHION By Anushka Sharma Anaya Collection Unveils "Gaudí’s Reverie" At Dubai Fashion Week: A Fusion Of Love, Technique, And Playful Elegance 11 September 2024 FASHION By Anushka Sharma Hebajasmi Unveils Captivating New Collection For SS25: A Masterpiece Of Art And Fashion 10 September 2024 FASHION RELATED POSTS

  • Top 10 Beaches In The World- All About Serenity & Tan

by Priti Sharma Top 10 Beaches In The World- All About Serenity & Tan 14 February 2023 TRAVEL Advertisement Advertisement The globe is genuinely home to an incredible variety of magnificent beaches, each more breathtaking than the last, whether they are gifted with blindingly dazzling white sands or situated in the most exquisite setting possible. Some of them are located in the center of well-known cities, while others are hidden away on tropical islands or deep within national parks. These stunning beaches must be seen to be believed, whether they are surrounded by striking rock formations, rocky cliffs, or softly swaying palm palms. 10. Navagio Beach Navagio Beach and the bright blue seas that surround it surely present a stunning image, framed by dazzling white limestone cliffs that tower above its sandy coastline. The stunning beach, which is one of the most picturesque natural settings in all of Greece, lies on the Ionian Island of Zakynthos and is frequently featured in tourist publications. Ironically, Navagio Beach is only reachable by boat and is known as "Shipwreck Beach" due to the rusted wreckage of a ship that lays on its beaches. The beauty gets better and better as you get closer as you skim through the glistening waves towards the hidden cove. 9. The Baths The Baths are located on Virgin Gorda, the third-largest island of the British Virgin Islands, at its southernmost point. On the beach, massive granite stones are piled up and form stunning tunnels and grottoes that are open to the sea and flood during high tide. The striking impact is enhanced by the tropical palms that line the sandy beaches. 8. Tapuaetai A tiny islet in the Cook Islands' Aitutaki atoll is called Tapuaetai (One Foot Island). The Aitutaki lagoon is beautifully visible from there, and depending on the tide, you may stroll on a sandbank some distance away from Tapuaetai. At the World Travel Awards held in Sydney in June 2008, the beach received the title of "Australasia's Leading Beach." 7. Zlatni Rat Zlatni Rat, also known as the "Golden Horn," projects into the Adriatic and varies in length and shape with the wind, tide, and current. The serene port town of Bol is only a short distance from the white pebble beach, which is situated on the south shore of the Island of Brac. Due to its breathtaking surroundings and glistening turquoise seas, Zlatni Rat is one of Croatia's most well-known tourist sites and frequently appears on the covers of travel publications from all over the world. It was ranked among the top ten beaches in the world by Lonely Planet in 2009. 6. Oludeniz Oludeniz, a beach in southwest Turkey with the charmingly called Turquoise Coast, is becoming a more well-known destination as news of its enormous attractions spreads. Oludeniz, which means "dead sea," is home to some outstanding snorkeling and scuba diving because of its tranquil, clear waters and amazing marine life. Even while its large sandy beach is great for lounging, the stunning surroundings are worth investigating. The legendary "Blue Lagoon," surrounded by stunning mountains, is a must-see, and many tourists parachute down to enjoy the aerial view of the beach. 5. Trunk Bay On St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Trunk Bay is a beach that is part of a National Park. The National Geographic Society named it one of the world's most beautiful beaches, drawing throngs of cruise ship tourists. The beach's amenities include a snack bar, bathrooms and showers, a lifeguard, and—most famously—a coral reef snorkeling route. 4. Maya Bay Since having shot to fame in the 1999 film The Beach, Maya Bay in Thailand has been one of the most sought-after beaches in the world. Such was its popularity, however, that Thai authorities had to shut the beach in 2018 and limit the number of visitors to 2,000 a day to help protect and preserve the environment. Surrounded and sheltered by towering limestone cliffs, Maya Bay’s white sand beach and inviting waters make for one of the most stunning settings imaginable. Located on the island of Ko Phi Phi Le, which lies in the Andaman Sea, Maya Bay is a treat to visit. Visitors can enjoy kayaking, snorkeling, and scuba diving around the bay. 3. Whitehaven Beach It is simple to see why Whitehaven Beach in Queensland, Australia, is often listed as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It spans about seven kilometers, with magnificent turquoise seas around its isolated bays and lagoons. It is home to some of the cleanest beaches on Earth. The beach receives comparatively few tourists as a result of its isolated position in the Whitsunday Islands. With no one else in sight, you may relax on the sand, go kayaking, or have a BBQ. Whitehaven Beach is located in the center of the Great Barrier Reef and is only reachable by seaplane, helicopter, or boat. 2. Tulum Tulum, which is located on Mexico's Caribbean coast, is home to one of the best-preserved Mayan ruins in the nation as well as one of its greatest beaches. The Mayan city of Coba originally used it as its main port. Tulum lacks the beauty of certain other well-known locations since it was constructed about 1200 AD when the Mayan civilization was already in decline. However, the backdrop of a tropical beach makes this one of Mexico's busiest tourist spots and a photographer or artist's paradise. 1. Anse Source D'Argent Anse Source D'Argent distinguishes out from the pack among the gorgeous and opulent beach resorts that Seychelles is known for. It is situated on the island of La Digue and is one of the most well-publicized beaches in the world. Anse Source D'Argent, is one of the best beaches in the world, with a winning combination of pink sand beaches, coconut palms, and big granite rocks dotting the coastline. It truly is an island paradise unmatched by any other, with the warm seas of the Indian Ocean lapping at its shores, clean and unspoiled nature all about you, and exotic birds fluttering overhead. • 5 Ways to Always Look CLASSY

by Tanvi Punia 5 Ways to Always Look CLASSY 16 July 2021 FASHION Advertisement Classy style never goes out of fashion. It’s the biggest compliment when someone describes a person’s style as being classy. It’s definitely what everyone should strive to be. Classy style doesn’t always have to be boring as one can always incorporate classier trendy pieces into their looks. And of course, there’s so much more to being a classy person than just the way one looks. Here, the prime focus is just on how to look classy. Through this article, one can learn 5 easy ways to always look classy. So, let’s get started! Keep Clothes Pristine One should keep their clothes looking pristine and clean at all times. What is meant by this is that a person doesn’t always have to go out and spend hundreds of dollars getting really expensive clothes. Instead, even if the person is wearing something that’s relatively cheaper and they present themselves well and wear them right, they can make for a very classy outfit. One should always have their clothes crease-free. Balance the Outfits One can limit the amount of skin they show by not showing too much skin everywhere. Well, it is completely okay to wear something slightly revealing but the rule that most people like to go by is to balance it out. So, if a person is wearing something slightly revealing on the top, they can balance it out with something a bit more conservative on the bottom such as pants that can cover their legs. One can also wear skinny fit and show off their figure but it is much classier to cover up the bottom half and vice versa. Minimal and Natural Make-up Obviously, everyone would still do a few things to enhance their looks but one should not go overboard. With make-up, the three things to focus on would be the skin, eyebrows, and eyelashes. Everyone’s skin should always look nice and clean. There’s nothing worse than a cakey foundation look. In this day and age, everyone is going for a more natural, glowy look so lighter make-up should be preferred. Eyebrows definitely frame one’s face. If someone has messy eyebrows, no matter how nice their clothes or hair are, their face won’t look put together. As soon as they’ll have nice and tidy eyebrows, it will enhance their overall look. Wear Dainty Jewellery With everyday jewellery, it is always classier to go with dainty jewellery that looks high-quality. One can even wear them in the shower and not worry about them getting tarnished. So, having a few pieces that are really dainty and of good quality would last through the years and would definitely give a classier look overall. Wear Comfortable Clothes There’s nothing classy about wearing something uncomfortable and constantly keep adjusting. It’s a sure thing that everyone would have experienced these clothes that look really beautiful but are a bit uncomfortable. It just makes them look not very confident with themselves and this constant fidgeting is just not classy. So, one should choose their clothing items very consciously. So, these were the 5 ways of always looking classy. Incorporating them into daily life can make anyone look classy! • The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom

by Yashi Srivastava The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom 15 December 2022 FASHION Advertisement India is a land of traditions that go thousands of years back. From Ayurveda to Yoga and festivals, even buttons, exhibit Her glorious culture, and a splendour that my country really is! Amongst the many spectacular factors that help India stand out from the western countries is the way Indians dressed – back in time. So, when we talk about Indian attire, there is no way that we wouldn’t talk about the exuberance that flow from the oldest Indian fabric used for weaving attires – handloom! Before the Britishers took over our beautiful country, Indians wore attired made only from handloom fabric. So, yes, the history and heritage of Indian handloom goes way back in time and in this article, we shall throw some light on the rich history of Indian handloom. What is handloom? Handloom was originally a variety of wooden frames used by artisans to weave fabrics out of them. The fabrics usually came from natural fibre including cotton, wool, jute, silk, etc. The procedure involved spinning the yarn followed by coloring to weaving the fabric on the loom – the final product came to be known as handloom. The history of Indian handloom – Early Days The history of Indian handloom takes us back to the Indus Valley civilization, when the first evidence of the fabric came up. Ancient India was the only producer of raw cotton and even exported the same to other countries, including Rome, China, and European nations. In fact, back in the time, every village in the country has its own weavers who spent hours in making attires like saree and dhoti to fulfil the clothing needs of the villagers. The beauty of the time was that the Indian handloom, in its beginning, was the purest material and the same showed when people wore it. The history of Indian handloom – The Gandhian Era Even though India enjoyed a golden phase of handloom heritage, its popularity went down once British took over the country. In order to increase the consumption and production of the yarn, Britishers used violence and coercion on the workers and weavers. The machine-made imported yarn made it difficult for the poor workers to keep up with the production, and thus, led to the downfall of the fabric. Most workers started working for the middlemen and traders, and the authenticity of Indian handloom shook to the core. However, during the Gandhian era, the age of handlooms was revived through Swadeshi Movement, where Mahatma Gandhi re-introduced the spinning wheel or ‘charkha’ to continue the production of khadi products. Since every Indian was involved in spinning the ‘charkha,’ the economy of the country saw a massive upgrade! People burnt the imported clothes and wore khadi everywhere, which even led to closing of mills in Manchester. The history of Indian handloom – Post Independence Even after India earned Her independence, textile industry continued to bloom and different weaving styles and fabrics were introduced. Even though, handloom didn’t rise exactly as high as it did before British colonisation, it was still widely used. The beauty of Indian handloom today Today, the cost of natural fibre is blowing by leaps and bounds because most people are not interested in buying the same these days. Most Indians prefer cheaper fabric and don’t really connect with the rich heritage of Indian handlooms. Khadi products, today, have a high cost, in comparison to other materials, and thus, not many regular people in India can afford to buy the fabric. Even so, the beauty of Indian handloom is unmatchable and still boasts of rich tradition and glorious past of our country. Even though the original Indian handloom cannot compete with the poly-mixed products that are way cheaper, the timelessness of handloom will always carry the hard work and skills of Indian craftsman from the past. Conclusion It is all right to say that the popularity of Indian handloom is only vanishing since the time we earned independence. The beautiful handloom deserves a place in the present as much as it did in the past. So, let’s work our bit to bring the true Indian attire back into business. Blob - The beauty of Indian handloom is such that goes back to the Indus Valley civilization, and even though, it faces tough competition from the poly-mix fibre today, the fabric has withheld a place of its own. • How Fashion Haul Is Damaging Our Environment: Explained

by Aishwarya How Fashion Haul Is Damaging Our Environment: Explained 3 November 2022 FASHION Advertisement If you are active on social media, you would know what fashion haul is. At least once, these fashion haul videos must have popped on your feed. These videos can also be there in your ‘for you’ feed. Well, you might think, what’s the big deal if these videos are there? So let us tell you that, these videos are destroying our environment. Not in a real sense, but hypothetically speaking, these hauls lead to excessive buying of clothes and that leads to the destruction of our environment. A haul is a video that is promotional and, most fashion influencers do it. The company sends them a large number of clothes to try on and review. In return, the influencers get a hefty compensation in money or its kind. Now, the problem with such a promotion is that it provokes the audience to buy stuff that isn’t even needed by them. These hauls are heavily focused on fast fashion , which on its own is damaging to our nature. Though the hauls are bad for nature, people seem to like those content. The concept to understand here is that hauls are not only bad for our nature but are also for our budget. TikTok is a video content platform and, there are more than 1 billion views on the #clothinghaul hashtag and almost 13 billion views on the #haul hashtag. These numbers show us the reach, these videos have amongst the audience. The famous Shein is one of the most popular companies, in the haul trend. Shein hauls are popular for sure, but they are also driven by a marketing strategy. Shein has an affiliate program for influencers , that pays them a 10-20% commission for the haul post. Now, let’s talk about the damage, that these fast fashion hauls do to our environment. According to a study , the fast fashion industry creates almost 92 million tons of waste and, consumes around 79 trillion litres of water each year. As an industry, the fast fashion industry is responsible for 1/3rd of all microplastics found in the ocean and, produces almost 20% of global water waste. These numbers will concern you, but the fact is that most of fast fashion’s waste comes from post-production. Textile waste, the waste from unused textiles and old cloths, ends up in landfills. Around 85% of all textiles wind up in landfills every year- equivalent to one garbage truck filled with clothes being dumped in landfills every second. If this doesn’t concern you- which shouldn't be the case, there’s more than this. The fashion industry is the second largest polluter in the world, after the oil industry. Well, if you are thinking that, then why is it always the fashion industry that is being targeted? Then the reason is that fashion is a want and not a need. An excessive amount of clothing is harming the environment and also your bank account (read: month-end balance). The wastewater that this fast fashion industry produces, has toxic substances in it like lead, mercury, and arsenic. These substances are extremely harmful to aquatic life- where these substances are released, and also to millions of people who live by the river banks. A huge quantity of freshwater is used for dyeing and other processes, which leads to a shortage even more. To this, cotton needs a lot of water to grow, up to 20,000 litres of water is needed to produce 1kg of cotton. Another contributor to pollution is chemicals. They are used in every process, right from dyeing to result. The fashion industry also accounts for 10% of global carbon emission. It is also seen that the fashion industry has a major part in the degradation of soil. Apart from these environmental issues, there also exist some societal issues. The workers in the fashion industry are compensated very less and, and they work for a crazy amount of time. This is to keep up with the trends and deliver the clothes within the shortest period possible. This makes them a slave to the time, and they often end up getting burned out mentally and physically. The fast fashion and haul culture also give rise to the flex culture. Youngsters are on a quest to always have the trendiest clothes and also an excessive amount of clothing to wear. When there is a will, there is a way. So, the solution to this problem/disaster lies in acknowledging the harm that it is creating and, showing some willingness to change. Change isn’t difficult in today’s world, where nearly everything and anything has a cool alternative available. We just need to be mindful and choose sustainable options rather than a convenient option. A haul is a video that is promotional and, most fashion influencers do it. The company sends them a large number of clothes to try on and review. In return, the influencers get a hefty compensation in money or its kind. • How Koreans Eat And Drink Their Way To Beautiful Skin

By Anushka Sharma How Koreans Eat And Drink Their Way To Beautiful Skin 20 June 2024 BEAUTY Advertisement Advertisement Koreans are renowned for their glowing, youthful complexions, and it’s no secret that diet plays a significant role in their skincare regimen. While the world often marvels at their intricate beauty routines, the foundation of their enviable skin lies in the foods and drinks they consume daily. From fermented vegetables to soothing teas, Korean cuisine is packed with nutrients that promote healthy, radiant skin. Here’s a closer look at some of the key elements of the Korean diet that contribute to beautiful skin. Kimchi: The Fermented Marvel Kimchi, a staple in Korean households, is a spicy, fermented cabbage dish that offers numerous benefits for the skin. This pungent dish is loaded with garlic, chili, and antioxidants that help fight the aging process and promote an even complexion. Selenium and other nutrients in kimchi enhance skin elasticity and clarity. Eaten with almost every meal, kimchi adds a flavorful punch to dishes while nourishing the skin from within. Despite its strong smell that can dominate your fridge, kimchi is a must-try for anyone looking to improve their skin health naturally. Seaweed Soup (Miyeok Guk): Nutrient-Rich Tradition Seaweed soup, known as Miyeok Guk, is a traditional dish consumed especially during breakfast and on birthdays. This custom stems from the practice of giving new mothers seaweed soup to replenish vital nutrients lost during childbirth. Rich in sulfates, seaweed has a soothing effect on the skin and helps maintain its elasticity. By choosing seaweed soup over sugary birthday treats, Koreans ensure their skin remains youthful and vibrant, even as they celebrate another year. Soybean Soup (Doenjang Jjigae): The Antioxidant Powerhouse Doenjang Jjigae, a beloved soybean soup, is a daily fixture in Korean meals. Made from fermented soybean paste, this soup is rich in vitamin E and antioxidants that protect the skin from UV damage and environmental stressors. The affordability and nutritional benefits of soybeans make this dish a popular choice, proving that effective skincare can also be cost-effective. Incorporating Doenjang Jjigae into your diet can help shield your skin from damage and maintain its natural glow. Barley Tea (Bori Cha): The Circulation Booster Barley tea, or Bori Cha, is a refreshing beverage enjoyed hot in the winter and cold in the summer. Known for its deep, nutty flavor, barley tea is consumed in large quantities by Koreans for its health benefits, particularly for the skin. This tea enhances circulation, which is crucial for keeping the skin firm and promoting cell regeneration. Swapping out your usual coffee for barley tea can significantly benefit your skin, making it a simple yet effective addition to your skincare routine. Fermented Rice Wine (Makgeolli): The Skin Brightener Makgeolli, a traditional Korean rice wine, is more than just a drink; it's a skincare elixir. Unlike other alcoholic beverages, Makgeolli is rich in vitamin B and amino acids, which help brighten the skin and even out the complexion. It's also beneficial for treating acne. The skincare benefits of Makgeolli have inspired a variety of beauty products, including sheet masks and serums. Enjoying Makgeolli not only adds a touch of indulgence to your meals but also contributes to healthier, more radiant skin. The secret to Koreans’ beautiful skin lies in their dietary choices, which are rich in nutrients that support skin health. From the antioxidant-rich kimchi and nutrient-packed seaweed soup to the circulation-boosting barley tea and skin-brightening Makgeolli, these foods and drinks are integral to maintaining a youthful, radiant complexion. By Rini Pathak Breaking Barrier And Redefining Inclusivity Conduct Of Para Events: Shaping Of A Better Future By Mithibai Kshitij 19 January 2024 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Many people in the world speak a lot about inclusivity and diversity whereas there are only a few amongst them who transform their words into actions and define the real meaning of inclusivity. Fortunately, Mithibai Kshitij , situated in the city of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India is a distinctive example of an organization that believes in action rather than ranting about equality. Mithibai Kshitij has been able to emerge as the pioneer in arranging Para Events within its educational framework among other educational institutions. It has been creating and even rewriting history by being the only college festival to host Para Events. This year too has not been any different and the Mithibai Kshitij has perpetuated its tradition by hosting Para Events for the specially-abled children on the 7th of January. The event was dedicated especially to these children to showcase their caliber in front of all. The organization of the event demonstrated nothing but the college’s devotion towards the provision of a platform that embraced equality and inclusivity where everyone regardless of their physical appearance was welcomed to showcase their unique skills. The respective Para Events consisted of four different genres. Each of which were designed with caution allowing the individuals to celebrate their own unique and diverse talents.
