- Aakanksha Singh, the Runway 34 actress talks about Self-Love and Self Upliftment
By Aparajita Jaiswal Aakanksha Singh, the Runway 34 actress talks about Self-Love and Self Upliftment 6 June 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement Aakanksha Singh, who made her film debut with the Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt -starrer Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017) , before turning her attention down South, is back in the Bollywood fold. She will be seen playing a pivotal role in Runway 34 , featuring Ajay Devgn , Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh . In a candid conversation with Aparajita Jaiswal, the actress talks about her experience so far in the film industry. Aakanksha Singh discerns that it is definitely a difficult job to leave your mark on the film industry. She recognizes that it is not only a challenge to leave your mark on the film industry but any field for that matter. “I feel that with so much of competition and so many good actors to compete with you. I feel that you have to be really good in your content and your craft. You have to keep updating your craft, you have to keep learning and with every project you have to prove yourself,” she persists. “The audience is really very smart. They like to see good content and good actors and it definitely is a challenge to give them what they want to see. So I would say that yes it’s difficult but it’s not impossible and if you are good I think that the audience will love you. Perhaps it may take time but it is not impossible at all.” “My journey so far as an actor, has been so good. I’m really grateful that I’m living my dream and I’m doing what I love. I’m very fortunate and grateful that I’ve got an opportunity to be in this industry and to be an actor. If I see my graph I would say that from here on I would really want to explore more and do more and more work and I always believed in quality rather than quantity.” The actress says feeling rather proud of the wonderful work that the movie-goers have been fortunate enough to see. “I’m really very proud of all my work and from here on out I really hope and wish that I’ll get more opportunities to perform better and to showcase my talent more.” Aakanksha Singh is making headway into the industry with warp speed as she is expected to release multiple new projects in the coming few months. The actress is excited to reveal her new project, a south anthology film, which is releasing on OTT very soon. Another one of her projects, an originally Telugu series, Parampara, dubbed in 7 languages including Hindi, is expecting its second season to release in July. Aakanksha plays 3 different age groups in a new Hindi series which is expected to be announced soon. “There are so many actors I look up to,” Aakanksha says. “But if I had to choose one name, I would say, both nationally and internationally, Priyanka Chopra . What she has done for herself and she really made our country proud. So, anyone who is dreaming to make it big, she is an inspiration and it’s amazing to see where she is at right now.” Aakanksha Singh is a true inspiration for those of us constantly worrying about where life will take us. “For me it is very important to live in the moment and I always try to live in the present. I am really enjoying the kind of projects I’m doing and the opportunities I’m getting. I don’t know where it will take me but the work satisfaction I’m getting is more than enough and I feel like if my work is good and if the audience is liking me, definitely it will take me somewhere. Nobody can plan that and I don’t plan my future. I go with the flow and I am just enjoying the process and without even thinking what will be there for me tomorrow.” Aakanksha Singh talks about the ease with which she slipped into the character that she played on screen for the movie Runway 34 . She felt right at home with the character. “I would say easiest of all was runway 34 . My character Samaira Khanna was easiest to slip into of all the characters I have played. It was not only just the character but the environment that I shot in. It was smooth and everything was in place. I feel that as a team, we enjoyed working together. So yes, that was the easiest character I feel, without any hesitation, I just slipped into.” Aakanksha Singh talks about her favourite character amongst all the ones she has played so far. “There are two short films, and both the characters are really close to my heart. One is Methi ke Ladoo where I played Radhika and the other one is Kaid. Both the characters were very complex to play, I would say. As I said, the easiest character was runway 34 Samaira Khanna but these two characters were really difficult to portray because there were so many complex emotions and I really enjoyed that.” The actress shares her views on Body Positivity and Women Empowerment. “I feel women empowerment and body positivity is much too correlated. I feel that it is very important for a woman to be empowered with the education and with a sense of self-worth. It is very important to accept yourself as you are. When it comes to body positivity as well, it is very important for us to accept ourselves and also accept others; the way they look and the way they are there. There should not be any judgement passed over. You have to be very comfortable in your skin. Recently I stated in one of my posts as well, how much I love myself. Initially I was not very aware of how I was not putting myself on the front foot but now I have realised it is important to love yourself, to work on yourself and to love the way you are. So I think it is very important to accept the fact that everybody is different from one another, and female empowerment also comes when you lift each other. One female can lift the other and they can cheer for each other. It is very important to know the importance of education and take your own decision in your life. I think the two are correlated as we talk about both being empowered and body positivity. One thing which plays an important role is the self-confidence that we have. It is very important to have that and we need to love ourselves.” Aakanksha Singh talks to the young readers of the magazine and says, “Life is too short so enjoy each and every moment of your life. Just be there, wake up, show up and love yourself as much as you can. Because the only thing which will stay with you is your body and your mind. So train your mind to be a healthy mind, be a healthy body, love yourself and just go for whatever you would like to do and whatever you love just to do. Don’t resist, don’t think much about what will be there for you in the future. Live in the present and just go for it!” SEARCH Karishma Kotak Playing Her Innings In Fashion, Sports And Fitness COVER STORIES Musings With Maryam Zolghadr COVER STORIES Madhura Naik talks about the Life of an Actress COVER STORIES Kavya Thapar And Her Versatile Acting Career That Cuts Across Regional Lines COVER STORIES Ahsaas Channa Talks About Her Mother Being The Inspiration Behind Her Career COVER STORIES POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement By Anushka Sharma A Journey Shaped By Courage, Creativity, And Social Media With Aditi Sharma 19 October 2024 COVER STORIES By Anushka Sharma A Journey Of Transformation, Empathy, And Unwavering Passion With Jitin Gulati 11 October 2024 COVER STORIES By Anushka Sharma Komica Anchal: A Journey Of Perseverance, Passion, And Possibilities 11 September 2024 COVER STORIES By Anushka Sharma From Dream To Reality: The Rise Of Sameer Mark In The Fashion Industry 9 September 2024 COVER STORIES RELATED POSTS Advertisement
- Busting Christmas Myths!
by Akash Khatri Busting Christmas Myths! 1 December 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Christ was born on December 25th The Bible neither gives a specific date nor even a month for the same. It’s highly unlikely that Jesus could have been born on December 25th. The Bible mentions shepherds with their cattle grazing I the field during Jesus’s birth but it’s extremely cold in December in Bethlehem and nothing grows there then. Most scholars agree that Jesus was born sometime near the end of September based on biblical clues. Xmas is sacrilegious Many Christians view the removing have “Christ” out of Christmas as a sacrilege and replacing it with an X. But if you notice the word “Christ” in greek is written as “Χριστός.”. Chi is also written as an X in the roman alphabet so hence it is not wrong either. Santa Claus or Father Christmas and St. Nicholas are synonyms Saint Nicholas of Myra, also known as Nicholas of Bari or Nicholas the WonderWorker, was an early Christian bishop of Greek descent from the maritime city of Myra in Asia Minor during the time of the Roman Empire. He performed many miracles attributed to his intercession. While Santa Claus is a legendary character originating in Western Christian culture who is said to bring gifts to the homes of well-behaved children on the night of Christmas Eve or during the early morning hours of Christmas Day. The little drummer boy There is no Biblical interpretation of any kind of a drummer boy playing the drum as loudly as possible to baby Jesus. Wishing “happy holidays” is wrong If taken literally the word holiday means ‘holy day’. Celebrating the birth of Jesus is certainly holy and saying happy holidays definitely isn’t taking “Christ out of Christmas.” Midnight Mass is at 0:0 The schedule is in fact quite flexible, some churches start the service at midnight while some start by 10 or 11 pm and end it by 12. Since 2009, the Pope has celebrated this Mass at 10:00 pm, and as a result, the official liturgical designation of these texts has been Mass during the Night since 2009. However, when the Mass does occur at midnight, it is still commonly called “Midnight Mass”. Christmas cards are a tradition It was a Victorian businessman who made the Christmas card an American tradition. People did not send Christmas cards before the idle of the 19th century. Boxing day People consider boxing day to be the day to box up all those presents you don’t want and return them to the shops. But actually, it began in the middle ages in the UK where churches would open their collection boxes and distribute money to the poor. The three wise men As per Matthew, “ magi” who are wise men not kings came from the east looking for the King of the Jews to Jerusalem bearing precious gifts for Jesus when he was born but it never mentions the number or names of the men. Also, the bible mentions Jesus being a young child not an infant at that time. Surprisingly there is no mention of Jesus sleeping in a manger in any of the religious literature. People assume it to be “three” in number because there is a mention of three gifts – gold, frankincense and myrrh. Christmas is the most important No, its easter which lasts about two months and commemorates the rising of Jesus from the dead into the eternal life. Easter is so sacred as it celebrates the resurrection of the son of god and triumphs over death. Jingle bells is a Christmas song Though it is now one of the most loved Christmas songs out there it wasn’t initially meant to be. Originally titled One Horse Open Sleigh, It was initially written in the 1850s for American thanksgiving by composer James Lord Pierpont who penned it for his Sunday school class. The lyrics were later modified to fit Christmas. - Sushmita talks about SushDazzles, her YouTube channel
by Aparajita Jaiswal Sushmita talks about SushDazzles, her YouTube channel 1 October 2020 Advertisement In a freewheel chat with Aparajita Jaiswal, Sushmita, a beauty influencer reveals that she recently hit 100k subscribers on her YouTube channel, SushDazzles. She is an introvert, optimist and a perfectionist, working towards making her dreams come true. As she grows, Sushmita would like to advocate sustainable and vegan options for beauty and skincare products. Sushmita, born and bred in Kolkata, is a beauty influencer with her very own YouTube channel, SushDazzles. She grew very quickly and is celebrating as she recently hit 100k subscribers on her YouTube channel. Sushmita creates celebrity inspired makeup looks and does product reviews on her YouTube channel. She jump-started her career from modelling and then decided to commence her very own YouTube channel, embarking on an independent journey towards being a beauty influencer. “I can unmistakably say that my subscribers inspired me to recreate celebrity looks,” Sushmita says. “I initially started with everyday makeup looks except for one or two random celebrity looks from time to time.” A few videos later she started recreating celebrity-inspired looks using affordable drugstore products. “I noticed in the analytics that many of my subscribers were Gen-Z and were too young to afford high-end products,” Sushmita reveals. Sushmita’s viewers started loving these tutorials and found them extremely helpful and her channel quickly started becoming popular. Sushmita is a typical night owl. She finds the calmness of the night inspiring enough to work on her videos. “A typical day in the week would look like lots of editing and ample number of shoots. I tend to fit in my workout at least thrice a week.” In the last two years, Sushmita has worked with multiple renowned Indian as well as international brands, majority of which are Swedish, American and Korean. “My primary focus is to introduce cruelty free, vegan, plant based and sustainable products to my audience, so whenever there’s an opportunity for me to work with such brands, I gladly accept.” She has worked with quite a few renowned makeup artists from Kolkata as a model. “I used to enjoy the process of getting ready for the shoot and was amazed by their finesse and artistry. It was then that I took an interest in makeup. Next thing I knew, I was watching a lot of YouTube makeup videos. I became familiar with the makeup techniques and terminologies. And my interest kept growing. Meanwhile, I decided to quit my job and start my YouTube channel.” There are multiple things everyone should keep in mind while working in the tough industry of influencers and in the digital world. According to Sushmita, patience, hard work and passion pays off in the end. “Like any other creative field, the most important thing is patience. Then comes hard work and you need to have passion for what you do. You need to love what you are doing and not look at it as a job.” “When I started, I had no experience of creating digital content. The first time I saw the interface of my editing software I started crying and I swear I thought I couldn’t do it. Then I pushed myself because failure was not an option for me. I made innumerable mistakes and I learned a lot from them. I don’t think I would have done anything differently considering the knowledge I have gained from these experiences.” “Coming up with new content is always one of the most challenging parts of the job. Also, since I review a lot of new products, I always run a risk of using something that might not suit me and hence damage my skin.” The number one key to success in the business is to be yourself, Sushmita says. “There is no one like you and that’s your super power. You will find your tribe and people will love you for who you are. My family has been the pillar of strength for me. And I have been reading this book called ‘The untethered Soul’ which is all about the spiritual awakening and the path of spiritual consciousness. The book greatly influenced my strength as well.” Sushmita talks about failures in the most positive manner. “I don’t treat anything as a failure. I treat it as a learning curve. There are times when I do feel a little demotivated, and there are ups and downs, but that feeling is only momentary. Instead of feeling bad about it I start analysing what went wrong and make sure to do it differently in future.” Competition in this industry can get tough, especially on the mind. “The only competition I have is with my own self. What I create today should be better than what I created yesterday. However if things get tough, I take a break, meditate and it helps me re-evaluate the situation, try to see things from a different perspective. The rat race might overwhelm you sometimes. It’s important to set yourself in the right direction.” Sushmita affirms that there is no particular skincare routine she follows to make sure her skin stays healthy and glowing. She tries various products on her review videos therefore constantly changing the products that she uses. Other than the products she uses on her skin, there are a couple of things she constantly keeps in mind throughout the day when it comes to her skincare. “I wash my face twice a day, morning and night, and mainly focus on cleansing and moisturizing. I make sure to use a good moisturizer and sunscreen during the day and vitamin-C serum at night. Other than the basics, my diet takes care of the rest.” Sushmita is a very mindful shopper and plans way before she shops. “I pick a store and then go for it. My favourite high end brands are Smashbox and Huda Beauty. I always wanted to try Charlotte Tilbury. Although, I don’t have any brand that I can’t stand, I wish all brands were cruelty free and Vegan. As I grow, I would like to advocate sustainable and vegan options. Apart from makeup videos I have also created contents on mental health, body shaming, colour differentiating, depression and positivity. I want my audience to be confident about themselves. I wish to create meaningful content so that it adds value to their lives.” Sushmita’s Beauty Gurus are Chloe Morello and Kaushal Beauty. “I love Chloe’s quirkiness and Kaushal’s simplicity. I feel Taylor Hill, Miranda Kerr and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley always have great makeup on. They always look very natural no matter how much makeup they have on. Their makeup is very glowy and dewy and very skin-like and that’s what I love!” When asked, what is the one item you would never leave your house without, she immediately replied, “I would have to say lip balm. I cannot live without a lip balm even for a second!” Sushmita is a huge Marvel fan and spends her time watching Netflix series or psychological thrillers when not held up with work. “I love watching The Big Bang Theory and Friends while having my lunch. I love watching educational YouTube videos where they talk about new scientific discoveries, quantum mechanics, thought experiments, paradoxes etc. I love to sing and I’m learning to play the Ukulele. I like acrylic painting on canvas. I love reading books. And I love checking out new eateries.” In a world full of people waiting to be inspired, Sushmita stands out as she is aspirational, talented and mind numbing brilliant. She is a young and independent woman taking the world on with mere talent and passion for what she believes in. The 21st century is a hard place with a lot of competition and we believe she just might surpass our expectations! #looks #channel #Love #independent #youtube #subscribers #reveals #shushdazzles #audience #watch #subscribe #products #skincare #influencer #beauty #1lakhsubscribers #celebrity #inspiring #vegan #brands #videos #competition #passion #100k #lipbalm #sushmita #skin SEARCH Karishma Kotak Playing Her Innings In Fashion, Sports And Fitness COVER STORIES Musings With Maryam Zolghadr COVER STORIES Madhura Naik talks about the Life of an Actress COVER STORIES Kavya Thapar And Her Versatile Acting Career That Cuts Across Regional Lines COVER STORIES Ahsaas Channa Talks About Her Mother Being The Inspiration Behind Her Career COVER STORIES POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement By Anushka Sharma A Journey Shaped By Courage, Creativity, And Social Media With Aditi Sharma 19 October 2024 COVER STORIES By Anushka Sharma A Journey Of Transformation, Empathy, And Unwavering Passion With Jitin Gulati 11 October 2024 COVER STORIES By Anushka Sharma Komica Anchal: A Journey Of Perseverance, Passion, And Possibilities 11 September 2024 COVER STORIES By Anushka Sharma From Dream To Reality: The Rise Of Sameer Mark In The Fashion Industry 9 September 2024 COVER STORIES RELATED POSTS Advertisement

- Keeping it real with fashion & lifestyle influencer of the year Hofit Golan
By Aparajita Jaiswal Keeping it real with fashion & lifestyle influencer of the year Hofit Golan 5 April 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement Hofit Golan’s (Lifestyle, Fashion, Travel Influencer) interview with Manya Vadehra was quite a refreshing piece. With each question asked, she showcased positivity and the importance of valuing oneself. She won the title of Forbes Influencer of the year (2021) and has walked the ramp for several fashion weeks, including The Paris Fashion week in March 2022. She has modelled for brands such as Elisabetta Franchi and made significant appearances at The Venice Film Festival (2021) and Cannes Film Festival (2021). Hofit Golan’s entry into the fashion world was quite “by chance”. The influencer claimed that her first gig came as an opportunity from a relation of hers, trancing her journey as a “fashion entrepreneur”. She has actively contributed to organisations such as Global Angels Foundation, an international charity inspiring disadvantaged communities around the world to grow sustainably. According to her- “It is important to look at the bigger things in life. Even though I am an influencer, contributing to the society and maintaining healthy relations is way beyond that” Health and fitness are essentials in her lifestyle, and she motivates everyone to look after their body and mind and have a positive outlook towards it. When asked which amongst Runway catwalk, cover shoots and television and film acting she enjoys the most, she reveals- “None out of them. They all are a part of my job but being with my loved ones and meeting new people is what matters the most. I enjoy doing them all as part of my career, however I don’t look at them in the bigger picture”. Hofit Golan’s Instagram Bio says she is a Crypto Queen. When asked about NFT and Metaverse, here is what she had to say- “I think cryptocurrency and Metaverse are revolutionary developments in technology. There is massive technological growth and are huge inventions to invest in, especially in today’s era” Being a public figure and, therefore, shining in the spotlight can also have a negative side in terms of social media trolling. Hofit gives a positive outlook on such situations by saying- “If that is the case, the one stop solution is to simply block people. There is no need to give value to someone’s opinion who you may or may not know. It is not necessary for you to listen to such trolls. Personally, I received trolling way before I entered the space of social media but for those who are facing it, just learn to focus on yourself. Nothing is more important than your personal well-being. Therefore, prioritise that and everything else shall fall in place.” Hofit’s methods and manners of living life to the fullest are indeed inspiring. Her message to her fans and to the readers of the interview is to believe in themselves and their capabilities. “There is so much that you can do. Just believe that you are on the right path and keep going. - Pad vs Banana
by Aparajita Jaiswal Pad vs Banana 19 April 2022 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement What is Sex-education? I grew-up in a small town, where the people would receive a thrashing for uttering the word SEX. Writing the word SEX on any piece of paper, was no less than penning our own death warrant. Therefore, learning about it from our schoolbooks became impossible, and talking about it in the public was considered offensive. Along with my puberty came the age of 2G internet, and along with downloading video games setup on proxy servers, porn movies became the hot talk. These enabled the boys of my age to watch videos of penetrative sex. Yes, it was porn movies that gave us them first sex lessons. The debate of ban over pornography has always received mixed opinions, and even mine has fluctuated with time. Sex-education is certainly a must for every person in their late teenage and early adulthood. Particularly, for people like me who grow up in small towns with not much provided guidance. Having been a porn addict, I find myself qualified (read and learned) enough to write against pornography. Pornography lacks consent: I have watched many porn movies in which the female actors are seen undressing their male partners without their consent. The male actors are seen groping their female partners without their consent. Basically, pornography, in general promotes (at least supports) molestation in the name of sex. People may have different political, religious, and regional identities, but no one should consider molestation normal. Anyone defending pornography, for any intention, should at least not let this very thought slip away from their mind. Pornography encourages incest: A significant number of porn movies show the male actor having sex with a girl playing the role of his mother, sister, sister-in-law and even daughter. While the religions and cultures have different opinions on incest, research shows that incest is harmful to possible off springs. Majority of sex educators (gynaecologists) strongly oppose incest, and hence incest shouldn’t be encouraged in the name of sex through pornography. Sanitary napkins vs Bananas: A good porn movie (according to my younger version) is incomplete without a girl inserting unconventional items (like a banana) inside her private parts. The availability of such videos on the internet is a matter of disgrace. Sex education should be about spreading knowledge on the healthy menstrual cycle, sanitation of genitals, valuing consent, and so on. It should certainly not be about the ill-treatment of genitals but rather about EXPLORATION of sexuality. P.S.I do not intend to offend anyone. - Kian Barazandeh: Inspiring confidence with his awesomeness and positive energy
By Aadhya Venkatesh Kian Barazandeh: Inspiring confidence with his awesomeness and positive energy 30 July 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement Actor and Model Kian Barazandeh ventured into acting and modelling without intending to do so. “I was scouted over one-decade ago by a daring agent that believes in my talent and the look,” said Kian. Within a few years, Kian achieved heights that most models dream of. He was named IMTA’s “Model of the Year” and won some of the most significant modelling partnerships in the world. He aims to be the Ultimate Super-model and is motivated by the fear of being average. “All my life, I have dared to go beyond the possible,” he said. Kian wishes to blur the boundaries between the impossible and what is possible and has coined the term #possimpossible . Kian’s favourite collaboration was with Fashion Magazine NYC. Being selected as the face of Fashion Magazine NYC was a Himalayan achievement for the actor/model. Being selected was a fruit of his hard work and was a massive milestone in his career. Having worked with many high-profile luxury brands, Kian uses various model/photographer-finding websites to gain skills and experiences. He has collaborated with multiple luxury brands such as Bentley, Vertu, Chopard, 209 Mare, Rachini, and Dolce & Gabbana, amongst many others. He was selected as the style influencer for Dolce & Gabbana. “Think of Dolce & Gabbana, and you think of sunny Sicily, small Italian villages, big Italian families and big designs,” he said. D&G is one of Kian’s favourite designers, and draws a lot of his fashion inspiration from the brand. “Part of your brand is how you present yourself, including fashion.” Kian believes that playing with shapes helps one stand out as most pants and dressed come in standard styles. Kian was scouted by one of the biggest fashion modelling agencies, Independent Management, based in Milan, Italy. Independent Management now represents him as both an agency and a mother agency. Because of his job, Kian works in both Europe and Dubai. “If I have to choose one, I will choose Europe and Milan, Italy over UAE,” he said. He chooses Milan because it is one of the top fashion cities in the world. Milan also is a significant breakthrough market for many new models, and a successful stint there has benefitted many models throughout their careers. It is “a relatively inexpensive city with a wonderful culture, amazing food, and warm people.” When asked about a fashion ritual, Kian said that he always makes sure to bring essentials. These include nude undergarments. “I believe a model appearance: skin, Hair and... always must be photoshoot ready. This means the magic happens in your daily life and lifestyle routine.” He believes consistency is the most important component while working towards your goals. It helps you adapt and form habits faster. Kian deems motivation to be a driving force towards action. “You are going to be different tomorrow. Stop feeling stuck. - Anuj Gosalia Talks About Creating Terribly Tiny Tales
by Aparajita Jaiswal Anuj Gosalia Talks About Creating Terribly Tiny Tales 31 August 2020 Advertisement In a freewheel chat with Aparajita Jaiswal, Anuj Gosalia shares the story of creating, Terribly Tiny Tales, a globally celebrated platform with the worlds finest micro- fiction writers and how they reached their current stature. In this age of dwindling attention spans, their brand specialty is brevity, catching more people’s attention. With stories under 2000 characters, they are quick to read, accessible to more individuals and very hard to forget. Theirs is a global micro-fiction platform created by the brilliant mind of Anuj Gosalia. Terribly Tiny Tales is a special brand for the finest micro-fiction writers and reaching over 20 million people every week. Their stories advance and reach newer heights, influencing and touching more souls every day. They have opened us up to a whole new world full of stories. There’s a story for every reader, every emotion, serving fresh, daily. Back in 2012, Anuj realized that nobody engaged in blogs as much as they did in social media. “Over time as readership fell, I thought of what more can a writer do other than write books and blogs, where is the place for expression and if people are even interested in reading anymore. These were my questions. I recognized that people’s attention span reduced drastically. The more engaged writings were shorter, snappier and easier to consume and this led to the birth of Terribly Tiny Tales or more commonly known as TTT. I realized that the reason why people were not reading was not only because of social media but also because these platforms allow for a different kind of content to exist,” Anuj explains. “We started writing content that was shorter than 140 characters which was very new especially on Facebook and Instagram.” Although now a lot of pages are doing it, back in 2012 it was a new and unique concept brought to life by Terribly Tiny Tales. A typical day at terribly tiny tales starts with requiring all teams, the product team, content team, design team, trying to work at new angles to give its audience newer and fresh content. Their versatility reaches new heights every day as they take on interesting and unique projects. “What else can we do? I think that’s the big question. How can we build a larger brand of TTT,” says Anuj. Their primary focus being that they connect more and more with their audience, Anuj says, “we want to build something that people do not forget in a day or a week but remme…” Currently TTT is doing a project with Cadbury Dairy Milk which is a very recent addition to their work. They have collaborated to create films with Cadbury. So far they have three episodes out on their YouTube channel. TTT also has an app that’s a very engaged community. “We want to make that bigger so that is one of my key focus areas,” says Anuj. Every platform takes time to build and monetize, communities are built slowly and so did TTT. In 2015 TTT essentially had enough followers to be called a community. “We approached brands and told them we have 300 thousand people who love stories so can we tell your stories through TTT? That’s when we decided to put all our eggs in one basket and we started and expand from there.” TTT is not only on Instagram but also Facebook and twitter. They also have their very own YouTube channel and an app that engages over 20 million people in a week! The app lets people write stories and publish their work on their own. It is now TTT’s very own twitter! People can also publish their books on the app. It is nothing like you have seen before. It is dedicated to creators and readers. “The aim for the future is to tell more emotional stories. What we sometimes lose out on in bite sized fiction is that some stories deserve time and attention. We want to tell more stories that are deeper, more immersive and interactive. The future is where the story and you are very intimately connected.” Every child grows up reading Enid Blyton and few special books that inspire the paths we live and breathe. “I loved Enid Blyton like most children. I grew up reading Enid blyton books. The Famous five was of course my favorite,” the founder exclaimed. “I loved Agatha Christie and her characters. I was especially drawn to the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. It is such a funny and amazing book. Took me a while to read Arundhati Roy but it was an incredible read. The God of Small Things is such an amazing book and as it was my first it makes it a little more special. I have grown to love Sally Rooney’s writing. These writers continue to remain my favorite.” “Empty summer afternoons during my childhood were my portal into the world of books. when you read vigorously at that age you also start to imagine worlds. Just like any other child, I too started imagining my own worlds. My interest in writing woke when I was in 5th or 6th grade but I took writing a little more seriously when I was in college. Although I liked writing it was still not full time as I did not study writing. I did not want to pursue writing at that point but I really started enjoying and loving writing in college. I did not imagine building career in writing but I liked the fact that I could think better with writing.” We all want to bring change into the world and make a difference. We all want to chase our dreams. Anuj Gosalia dreamed of moving people with his work and his company. “I want to passionately tell stories that outlive most other stories and people. I want to enable such beautiful, memorable and meaningful writing that really moves people. There are so many things happening that we rarely pause and admire something meaningful that really moved us. Very few things make you get out of your moment and reflect something rare that you experienced and go back to think about it.” No one remembers consuming a meme after a week. There is a time and a context to a meme after which it loses meaning but some works of art and writing live with us forever. My passion is that TTT becomes a platform that allows this timeless memorable expression.” “One thing I would change about the writing world is people thinking writing is easy. Typing out a few sentences does not make everyone a writer.” The meaning of the word Success is different for all of us. Anuj believes that success should mean we are having fun with what we do and not worry about Monday mornings. “What is also important to me is how many people are moved by the stories we tell.” TTT has had such an impact on readers worldwide; children, college students and adults alike. They do such an amazing job of affecting our mornings with a new story that puts our lives into a whole new perspective. “We hope that our stories come from a good place and are doing good to people,” Anuj says. Determining a good piece of writing always is somewhat relatable and moves people. “We had a metric called relatability graph and surprise and now I have an intuition around what is good piece of writing for our platform” A lot Classic literature and supposed all time favorite literature is not very accessible to the laymen. Not every book needs to live up to the complexity and benchmark set up by these books to be recognized as a good read per most millennial writers. Anuj Gosalia has a very similar point of view on this subject. “I definitely value craft but do the stories have to be complex and does the writing have to be complicated? You appreciate writing when you know enough time and attention has been spent to the craft and detail by the creator.” The writer and founder talks about what his other fancies he likes to indulge in apart from work. “I love working out. Very recently post lockdown I was introduced to cooking. The little time I spent cooking, I have really grown to enjoy it. I think these two things give me a break from work.” “What I would tell the younger minds is that keep writing. There is no shortcut as I am learning it the hard way too. It’s like a muscle; the lesser you use it, the rustier it gets. There is no substitute in the work of writing. You might get great ideas but how you turn those ideas transform on paper is important.” #TaraTaraKhandelwalBooksBooksandbeyondBoundWritersReadersAuthorsLiterary #tttpublishing #Founder #TTT #150characters #tttpassion #Life #Instagram #Coverstory #Writing #AnujGosalia SEARCH Karishma Kotak Playing Her Innings In Fashion, Sports And Fitness COVER STORIES Musings With Maryam Zolghadr COVER STORIES Madhura Naik talks about the Life of an Actress COVER STORIES Kavya Thapar And Her Versatile Acting Career That Cuts Across Regional Lines COVER STORIES Ahsaas Channa Talks About Her Mother Being The Inspiration Behind Her Career COVER STORIES POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement By Anushka Sharma A Journey Shaped By Courage, Creativity, And Social Media With Aditi Sharma 19 October 2024 COVER STORIES By Anushka Sharma A Journey Of Transformation, Empathy, And Unwavering Passion With Jitin Gulati 11 October 2024 COVER STORIES By Anushka Sharma Komica Anchal: A Journey Of Perseverance, Passion, And Possibilities 11 September 2024 COVER STORIES By Anushka Sharma From Dream To Reality: The Rise Of Sameer Mark In The Fashion Industry 9 September 2024 COVER STORIES RELATED POSTS Advertisement
- Exposing Skin Care Myths Through A Dermatologist
By Anushka Sharma Exposing Skin Care Myths Through A Dermatologist 18 June 2024 BEAUTY Advertisement Advertisement Are you someone who spends a lot of time on social media, especially looking at skincare trends? I admit I've done that, and sometimes it leads to buying things I don't need. While some trends are good, others might not be so great for your skin. Here are five skincare trends you might have seen online that aren't as helpful as they seem: 1. Flax Seeds for Wrinkles: Have you seen people making masks with flax seeds to tighten their skin? Well, it might make your skin feel nice for a little while, but it's not like getting Botox. Botox actually relaxes certain muscles in your face, while flaxseed masks just hydrate your skin temporarily. 2. Garlic for Pimples: Some folks say eating garlic can clear up acne, but that's not entirely true. Garlic does have some good properties, but it won't magically make your pimples disappear. Using skincare ingredients like salicylic acid and niacinamide is a better bet. 3. Face Flooding for Oily Skin: If you've got oily skin, you might have heard about "face flooding" to give your skin extra moisture. But for some people, it just makes them look sweaty and can even cause more breakouts. It's not a one-size-fits-all solution. 4. Collagen Masks: Those masks that melt into your skin might look cool, but they don't do much for you. Collagen in skincare can't really get absorbed into your skin like that. It might make your skin feel hydrated, but that's about it. 5. SPF Madness: We've all heard that higher SPF means better protection from the sun, right? Well, not necessarily. Too much SPF can make your skin oily, and anything beyond SPF 50 doesn't add much extra protection. Plus, you still need to reapply it often. So, next time you see a skincare trend online, take it with a grain of salt. It's always best to talk to a dermatologist before trying something new on your skin.
